People talk about Messi losing the ball a lot. He did, in the second half, by trying penetrative combos with other players, who are not great at combos. Busi, FDJ Coutinho and fati lost the ball by trying nothing. Just plain straight giveaways.
Even Madrid bases sites, will tell you that Messi was good, especially in the first half but was LET DOWN by his teammates performance.

I dont think the issue is his performance, but his positioning. He chokes the life out of this team. But we are repeating the same old points over and over again.

He has still been involved in 6 of the 9 goals (2 assists to own goal, and 3 pre assist) that being said he's had several chances now he normally makes. His expected goals so far is 3,34 G/PG, for him thats abysmall. The only other season where he underperformed his expected goals as 2015-16 (and even then its was only by 1 goal).

reading some post here....really I can't believe it.
Criticizing a player, pointing out his mistakes, analyzing defects, pros and cons, and so on is right and proper, no problem.
But what some poster are doing to Messi is simply shitting on him, treating him like a shit, a cancer for the club, belittle everything he has done, a overrated media hype, hope he doesn't play well so they can shit on him even more....not even the worst real madrid fans and CR fans would have believed they could read such posts here.
And we are talking about a barca legend and one of the best player ever.
