If Quique wins us a CL, he should definitely stay. I mean, even EV which was also a bad manager brought us to the semis with ease and only needed a bit of luck to reach the final.
This year's format favors our chances because in one match we can beat any team that stands in our way, even Bayern or whatsoever. I think this might be our year. Nobody expects us to win it, the pressure will be way off.

Well, it's not that hard to reach semis if you draw easier teams.

Madrid made a CL semis by playing CSKA Moscow and APOEL Nicosia. You could have the worst manager in La Liga, if you get that lucky with draws you're almost certain to reach semis in CL.

 Very curious that RM and Bayern got these piss easy draws in the early 2010s.

And then, as soon as they became a European power, they started getting actually tough draws.

This is one of those where I actually do subscribe to BBZ's theories of UEFA's helping hand in guiding CL cycles.

BBZ theories are nonsense and involve countless former professional players not only taking part but never refusing and bringing to light.

didn't blatter confess to the hot balls/cold balls method actually being used in the past to decide draws?

I dont doubt that shit like that could have happened at some draws at some points in smaller tournaments... but asking a host of ex players to go along with it live on tv none of whom ever exposed it.

Not happening at that level and folk risking losing their jobs and UEFA risking losing millions for what gain?

None of it makes any rational sense.

Yes the game is bent you're naive if you think otherwise.

Football is just the modern gladiator arena to appease the masses.

Blatter had nothing to do with UEFA.

oh yeah, folks at uefa are clean as a whistle

On 8 October 2015, Platini was provisionally suspended until 6 January 2016 from any football-related activity. On 21 December, Platini and Blatter were both found guilty of ethics violations and barred from the sport until 2023.The committee said Platini "did not show commitment to an ethical attitude" and lacked respect for laws and regulations of the organization. Platini boycotted the hearing, and said he planned to appeal the decision, declaring himself "at peace with my conscience."

In April 2016, Platini has been named in the Panama Papers.

On 18 May 2018, Platini claimed that the 1998 FIFA World Cup draw was fixed to ensure France and Brazil could not face each other until the final if both teams won their groups.

In June 2019, Platini was questioned over the awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar

so rigging draws is not something that couldn't happen.

Why would a former Chelsea player rig the draw for Real Madrid? They've had former players from different teams including Puyol I think handle the draw. Are they all in a conspiracy to help Madrid lol?

The draws are not being rigged in CL.

Likes of BBz looks back for patterns then tries to make conclusions from it.

Called him on couple years back prior to a draw and he confidently predicted how UEFA would rig it and why.... he was about as wrong as could be when draw made.

because it is nice to attend other draws and be well seen. uefa builds you a nice image, keeps you close for other promotional stuff. or who knows, maybe throws you a bone as a secretary position, ambassador or some other good paying job that you don't really work for.

the chelsea player doesn't give a fuck. it's not like he ruins his former club which he may not really care for anyway. he goes along as everyone is in it and he gets a piece of the pie.

also, you don't risk much by doing it. even blatter or platini are well enough and they did some monstrous stuff.
