Maybe they can try to argue to drssing room big wigs that they gave him another chance and worse than ever at this point. Who knows.

it looks like they weren't going to until Abidal proposed to do so after he sensed things weren't right in the dressing room (after the clasico). So if it weren't for him we probably would have still had EV in charge. Maybe that's why the amigos were so upset with his sacking and didn't expect it at all. Basically with the way Abidal is behaving it looks like he acted on his own.

Reading that interview he seems he wasn't happy with the contract extension Valverde got mid season out of nowhere , but "accepted" it because it was the boards decision.
