Matthijs de Ligt

One thing about this guy & de jong, they will come in ready for the big game.

Also serghei lenglet better than umtiti for us, come on come on, I expect better from you.

That being said it we are getting de ligt I would sell umtimi because he would get a much higher price than lenglet and we can use that money to buy de ligt.

But better no way.

I am with the folks that Umtiti was very very good but not one of the world's top class. I think he would take too many low-reward high-risk plays, not the ideal leadership I want in a CB. He even made Varane into the French defensive leader, organizational leadership and positional discipline isn't Varane's strength either.

At their best, Puyol, Pique, Ramos, VVD or Kompany--another tier Umtiti has never been at IMO.

I would buy De Ligt and fund and create roster space via Umtiti out. I'll admit his contract distraction and how he played with it tainted me a bit, but I think some of you guys swallowed his agents words and not something he had consistently proven. He treated the club as a business, we can do the same and I say we have better prospects (more upside, youth, less injury risk) elsewhere.

Very bad defending on Juve's first goal. Pushing his own teammate to the ground.

True, other than the goal he scored I wasn't really impressed by his game tbh.
I get the hype, and I admit I can be wrong, but I don't really think he is a must buy for us.

his form dropped when he was INJURED -- period. prior to that he was arguably the best centre back in the world; he's still only 25 and is coming off an impressive showing in the world cup. it makes no sense to rush him out the door.

I seem to recall transfer speculation though before the injury .. didn’t his form dip then ?

IMO selling Umtiti now would be a pretty bad move for the future, knowing that Pique has two to three years left before retirement.
If we sell Umtiti and Pique retires, we`ll have De Ligt (if he comes), Lenglet and Todibo who is still an unknown regarding top ability. Besides that, if Umtiti regains his top form, he would be a perfect partner to De Ligt. Lenglet is a very good player, but Umtiti is a monster when he is at his best. People here have very short memories.

Pique said he wants to retire at Barca and play for a very long time. He isn't going anywhere.

Sick of Umtiti he's past his peak and will only get worse bring on De Ligt

Dafuq, why is everyone so positive about Lenglet? That dude could be a decent benchboy for a team like Barca, but he is far from first-11 material.

There were even people saying De Ligt isn't even close to being as good as Lenglet xD
De Ligt is already twice the player Lenglet will ever become.

Also I'm laughing at all of you telling me - in January - that De Ligt isn't the best defending talent and came up with names like Konaté and even saying 'we have got Tobido' now.

Been laughing for 3 months straight!

Its also not un-normal to have 3-4 quality cbs, especially when they are so one-footed.

We can easily go Lenglet-Umtiti for two years and pique-de ligt for 2 years (and then switch).

There is no reason to gambling with selling titi for some quick but cheap cash, lets see who if the best fit for us the coming two seasons and with de lift, and then we can sell the other.

So you just came here to call everyone retarded, despite a lot of things changing since then. One thing didn't change since then. We still need a striker and a LB more than a CB. So, therefore De Ligt is at this point a luxury buy.

To keep him playing consistently here either Pique needs to retire or Todibo needs to be loaned. Umtiti and Lenglet are LCB's.

Now if you call me retarded because of thinking that, fine.
