Ha! So funny.

Yet another non-content post from you. I'd be ashamed. Keep it up kid.

Kid? :D thank you! :D No one said that to me for a long time. :D Look you wanna have a grown up talk about De Ligt? Ok. Don't just throw stupid comments like "he is on the level of Ronaldinho talent wise" because at the moment putting him in the same sentence with any of those legends you mentioned is absurd. If you truly want to contribute to this forum than explain why is De Ligt such a big talent! Name his strengths, name things he has to improve, elaborate why would he fit us perfectly.

I'll start with De Jong ok? De Jong for example has perfect movement between the lines, the way he brings ball up front from defense reminds me of Modric, his short pass is perfect, his way of playing intelligent, his ability to play as a DM or CM also suit us perfectly. I also like the fact that he is much faster with the ball than both Rakitic and Busi especially when turning with the ball. On the other side he has to improve his final pass and he also has to contribute more attacking wise if he comes here. The thing that worries me is the fact that he plays in a Dutch league so it's hart to tell if he will be able to adapt here quickly enough. I could write more about him but I'll give you a chance now to write something about De Ligt in order to explain to us why do you consider him such a big talent.

Rofl. That was entertaining. Glad you matured up for this contribution.

Besides, the fact that you think you will get a response from me after acting like a clown for 10 posts in a row is... hella funny.

You've had your chance. Better luck next time, kid.

Regarding De Ligt, he seems to be the savest bet ever. He is 19, captain, already very, very experienced. Played UEFA cup final at 17, Together with Van Dijk the central defenders of the Dutch team (keeping players like Inters' De Vrij benched without even a debate) He is beast mode strong, Ajax technique, Goldern Boy winner 2018. I believe he made 1 offense on his own half the first 17 games in the Dutch league. Can be brutally hard and a bit mean (CL games vs. benfica). However, he is a defender and there will always be several top defenders but only a few top midfielders (Eriksen, Modric, Silva etc.)

De Ligt is worth 75m in todays market. After 5 years you can sell him for 75m when he dissapoints (inflation) or 150m when he is 24 and superb.

+1 to this.

But the thing is, we already have 2 young CB in Umtiti and Lenglet, Pique is still just 31(can play 2-3 years easily) & Todibo(who is a prospect, but could very well turn out good). De ligt is a very good CB talent no doubt, but if we lose on him its not going to be a that big of a blow. Plus, our defensive system is effective even if we don't have the best CBs in the world.

Also, the CB is market is very good atm, even if we lose on him, there are other CBs with same age who are also very good, so its not now or never.

But yeah I would be happy to get De ligt, if we get him for a sensible price(not more than 65M) and if it doesn't jeopardize our wage structure & his demands are reasonable.

....

Much more comparable to to Neymar transfer and how we bought him in to be the future attacking superstar of Barcelona. That ended in disaster.

What? He helped contribute to a CL title, La Liga titles most years, and Copa titles most years. And then he fetched what 240 million. The timing of his move was problematic for the club last year but otherwise the signing was brilliant by Barca.

De Ligt BY FAR the highest rated U21 defender in the world. He in fact is the highest valued defender under 23, with Lucas Hernandez at 22 the next highest.

So in terms of young prospects at CB, no there are not others like him. Unless the wages and fee are completely insane, above VVD and John Stones, I think it would be a good move by Barca--but it all does have to boil down to being reasonable risk/reward.

All agents are *holes for their players. Some are worse like Raiola but they are all bad. If it comes down to getting the right player with the wrong agent, get the right player.

Sounds as though Umtiti is more or less done isn't he ??

I'm sure I read something about his injury being far worse than first imagined . The kind of problem much older players get usually

Its all speculation atm, nobody knows how it will end up.

This might be true, but I won't rule him out until the Barca medical team does. That's why I still count him in.
