I think he celebrated because he'd just fulfilled an entire nation's world cup hope.

Even though he knew he'd done it by cheating? Disgrace.

How would you feel if that had happened to England or Spain?

Even Wenger is saying what he did was wrong and he should have admitted handball immediately.

Put yourselves in his shoes. Yes, he cheated but as a player however as a countryman, he did his country a huge favor. Split second decisions like these win or lose wars.

Seriously, if I was in his shoes (God how I wish I was), I would have done the same thing and celebrated exactly the same way that Henry did. I am pretty sure that it is easy to be on the moral high ground when you see it but come on, everyone would have done it the same way that Henry did.

its all good an well to say he should of said something then an there on the spot,

but its totally different when ur out there an u see the ball go in the back of the net, you get a head rush the crowd is going insanse because you just helped get the goal which could see your nation get into the world cup.
What is one person going to do anyway? Thierry "hey ref that ball hit my hand, the goal should not be allowed" ref " to late thierry decision has been made can not reverse it" what is one player going to do that situation? it needed to be the whole french team to stop play an grab the ball out of the net an place it for a free kick!

or for the French team to delibratly score an own goal to even things up, one player will not change the refs mind an it needs to be a team effort to have some chance!

Why aren't you criticising Gallas? He knew Henry had handled the ball, he celebrated just as fervently yet hasn't received so much as a mention. If this had happened to England or Spain I'd be criticising the ref just as I am in this situation, footballers will always play to the whistle and if none is forthcoming, yeah they're going to celebrate the goal that takes them to the world cup. As cheating goes, and a lot goes on in football, this barely registers as more than a mid-level act of "cheating".

Er yeah, that would have the been the honest and decent thing to do. The referee can reverse it actually, you don't know much about the rules do you?

I can't really take you seriously tbh as you don't even support a team, just follow your favourite players around, a bit like t14h.

Ref wont reverse it because one player said it was handball!

Its like a strike, no-one will listen to a 1man strike, but if u have multiple people there people will start listning

Same in football.

As professionals it's there duty to abide by the rules and not to see what they can get away with.

Gallas was also in the wrong but as the ball touched Henry's hand on the opposite side to him he may not have seen it.

Was Maradona's hand of god cheating?

As professionals, it is your duty to stay in the rules but try to push these rules as far as one can.

Fucking eh. Each one of us would have done the exact same thing if given the same exact situation.

Nope, I call that clever play by Maradona! he disguised it very well!

Only classy players can do stuff like that an get away with it

Not there fault the refs are blind

I still don't get it. Someone please explain it.

PS: Zidane's red card shouldn't have been given because video footage wasn't allowed to be used in a ref's decision.
