Thiago Alcantara

For 40 mil I would take him back. Anything over that is a gamble based on his injury history. He hasn't exactly set the world on fire for Bayern, so 40 would be more than a fair price for him. Maybe put some bonuses if he plays 90% of matches per season.

Are you and JamDav1982 the same person? or you both work at the same pawnshop? Cuz you guys agree on everything. So according to you and your mentor, Verratti should be worth even less than 40m cuz of injuries. Verratti played 68 league games (last 3 seasons), Thiago played 73 league games for the same period.

Barcelona are not after Veratti this summer....

What a fucking awful point to make.... as usual.

We were willing to pay almost double for Verratti last summer compared to what we're rumored to be in for Thiago

Being utter shit is a bigger risk than being injury prone. And that didn't stop us from overpaying like mad for the likes of Gomes and Paulinho.

Where has it been rumoured what Barca are willing to pay for Thiago?

Also Veratti did not have this injury record last summer either.

Overpaying for shit players has no relevance to overpaying again.

50m + Digne was literally an MD headline a few days ago. And 50m before that was the first rumor that came out. Thiago is more injury prone than Verratti but the difference is not that big and the fact that it's for so much less makes this an opportunity absolutely worth capitalizing on.

I've little doubt that Barca is just a better team at keeping players healthy than Bayern as well. It's a systemic thing with their club and has been for years now.

The 50m + Digne which feels like pure guess work is what they were saying Bayern wanted.

Which would put it closer to 70m anyway.

I think Barca would look to pay less for Thiago as Bayern seemingly are willing to sell and his injury record but doubt anyone is thinking will get him for 40m.

Couldn't agree more. Really need to stop signing average players left right and centre in the hope that they may grow here and focus on actually good players.

There is nothing worse than getting an injury prone player for a big price, we play great when he plays, but most of the time we would be playing with the same players we have now because he would be injured. Lets say we get Thiago for a big price, and he starts playing like never before, plays great, becomes our best mid, but gets injured when the big matches come April. That would not be a good deal for us. But if we could get him for a much cheaper price plus some bonuses depending for how much games he plays, that could be a great deal.
I would love Thiago here, but not for a huge price. I think that he could work great in a double pivot alongside Busi, with Raki as a rotation option for both players.
