Messi is already despised by a lot of muslims.
what? why?

It all started back when Barcelona went to Israel/Palestine. I don’t know if it was started by them but it was madrid/ronaldo fans that spread a photo of Messi at the wall wearing a kippah claiming he is in fact Jewish and a Zionist. Then there was some French paper that claimed Messi donated a million dollars to Israel.

Fortunately Messi came out and denied that he donated any money, and sometime later Messi posted a photo of children in Gaza in support of children in conflict zones. I am sure I am not the only Muslim Messi fan that experienced countless times both online and in person times when we heard these false claims and had to defend him. While there are some that still believe these claims, I think they are a very small minority.

I think it's huge that it's coming from Messi. After years of springtime collapses the players are finally wising up to the fact that we need to be better in the CL. Busi acknowledged the pattern and now Messi. Puyol also alluded to the fact that we should have been more successful in the CL recently.

Awareness of the problem is key and I haven't felt like anyone in the club really demonstrated it until now. After RM has won 3 CL's in a row finally the situation is starting to sink in.

Leo is the captain now, and to see him being more forthcoming and authoritative as a leader is great. And he's right. We need to get the best players, we need to make a bigger effort in the Champions League.

He's the captain now, better get used to it!

Its stupid, but im kinda hyped on that. Messi showing fighting spirit when its kinda most needed, for me it looks like shit is going down. Thats the only thing that he is missing right now to be the ultimate alfa and omega of this football generation, probably of all times also. Like a fucking movie

If he was a leader, this boy would be football itself. Not that he's far from it right now.

Let's see how can he do in the leader's role. If he masters that... He is a footballing God (not that he is far from it now).

The start on Ramos to protect his teammate is a sign of great things to happen IMO...

Doesn't this guy deserve a team which will fight for and with him? Hope he succeeds leading them.

Yes, well said. Let's hope Leo's got this one.

I hope he gets more motivation now that he is the captain and Madrid has won three CL in a row. He has been lacking it in the last 2-3 years.

In croatian, it is also Island (sometimes I even forget that it is actually a noun for an island, or as we call them: oh, those guys we played and played and played again again and again :)

Bolded part: Exactly, It didn't even register in my mind that Island is also a noun. Anyway, you guys played them often?
