Everyone forgot that Ronaldo irreversible decision to real and what not? This is just like that. This transfer window is pretty crazy with the rumors.

One of the tweets or links folks posted says "PSG wants to negotiate", if I am not mistaken. Does that mean PSG does not want to pay the release?

Do you think we should negotiate? Would you guys take 222m euros straight or something like Verratti + 150m euros if it were to come down to something like that?

There are no negotiations.

Barca do not want to negotiate for his transfer and the only way PSG can get him without entering into negotiations with Barca is to trigger the release clause.

It's 220m Euros for him or nothing.

Cant see Mbappe happening.

Get into a bidding war with Real and could be looking at 140/150m and even then it would suit him to go to Real and be a CF more would think.

If we end up losing to Real Madrid for his signature but somehow jacked up the price, it is still a win, isn't it?

Person-fans would want to maximize the potential of a said player for sure. But we are team (Barca) fans, why should we hope he goes to Real Madrid to unleash his CF potential?

I would take it as win if we sign good players and make real pay 150M for Mbappe.

Not a win losing out on a player want to sign even if makes Real pay a bit more for him.

No idea what second part means.

Jesus is that what it has come to.

It is a 'win' to make Real pay a bit more for one of best young players in years but Barca lose out on him...

Ronaldo's thing was due to the tax, once it got sorted everything was fine, Neymar's isn't to do with tax.

Might be a little bit late, but it looks like Neymar is heading to PSG.. "Moises llorens" says Neymar will not play against against Madrid and will not likely play the international cup

It would be bitter to lose him but at least if we had forced Real Madrid to pay significantly more for him, taking up money and resource that Real Madrid would have otherwise spent elsewhere making their team even stronger, it is a win for us, albeit small.

The second part simply means we Barca fans shouldn't care about what is the best for Mbappe (his CF potential and what not) rather we should care what it is the best for us. Letting him go to Real Madrid would not be good for us.

Again. If we sign good players then only it is a win. Wouldn't want to spend 150M on young prospect who was good for only few months. And if he doesn't live up to it Madrid would have blown 150M while we get 2 good players for the same amount. Going for Mbappe makes more sense if neymar leaves, even if we lose out on him it is okay. Can always go.for Dybala who is actually interested in coming here and would cost around 100M.

I think he knows this summer is a huge one for how rest of his career pans out as less likely anyone pays his higher clause for him a year older next summer.

It is either stay at a bigger club where he enjoys it but is not the main man or go to a smaller club and be the main man and get paid a lot more money for doing it.

His head has clearly been turned and can see why. Hope he stays though.

Interesting, what's he doing in New York then, he's probably gonna catch a flight soon to Paris.

I'd admit I am being petty here, but how is that better than not engaging in a bidding war at all and letting Real Madrid get him for whatever they want to pay??
