Neymar Jr. - v5

Neymar simply isn't good like we think he is, good enough as in having a chance to be up there with the goats worthy

Or he simply needs a new team where he can have total freedom because Messi is still good enough

Neymar is miles ahead of any other LW.
Hes not the problem with this team, without him we would probably be even worse.

I've heard that a lot. But Neymar started sucking pretty hard before the team's collective output went down the drain. Let's face it, Neymar in nearly all of 2016 and Suarez for over 10 weeks, are downright average and many players could potentially have done better since their respective regression.

Neymar has all the talent but i'm not shure about the needed desire to be the best he can be.
I also think he would be better with a team built around him but he won't have that at barca because Messi is still the best and the nr 1 here.

Agreed he needs a team built around him, don't know for how long he will be patient though wouldn't surprise me if he bailed out

If he wants to become the man of course

About a team built around Neymar, my opinion about it is:
1. if you don't build a team around Neymar=you won't get the best out of him
2. if you DO build a team around Neymar=you will get the best out of him, but a team built around Neymar (as a leader) won't ever reach highest achievements because he just isn't good enough to be a leader of best team like Ronaldinho, Messi, Rivaldo and other guys

I AM NOT comparing exactly Neymar with Alexis here, but Alexis is the similar example of a player who is better when you build a team around him (like Chile or Arsenal) compared to Barca where he was the 6th or 8th most important player.
But again, the same story:
1. if you don't build a team around Alexis=he will suck, like in Barca
2. if you DO build a team around Alexis=he will be better, but still NOT good enough for a team like Barca, Real or Bayern to build a team around fu**ing Alexis

So, again, I AM NOT comparing Neymar's class with Alexis', but principles are the same:
1. if you don't build a team around Neymar=you get the current crap
2. if you'll build a team around Neymar=we will be even worse than today because he is just not good enough to be a leader (I would dare to say BOTH in skills and especially mentally)

Nothing good will happen ever again as long as Neymar is in our team.
He is way too expensive and there is just no way to integrate him properly in our team.
Not to mention his mental strength weakness.

And even though other LWs are weaker, imo, any good 30-50M worth winger would offer equally as good (or as bad) performances as Neymar in the last 12 Months.
We surely wouldn't be any worse without him.

But hey, the time will tell.
After 2-3 years of poor results, when we'll finally sell him, we'll see that a world can exist even without Neymar.

I think mental issues are the most important, not entire team building. He showed his class when he was on fire and he showed his talent is much higher than random LW for 30-50M. But I do think he has seriuos mental problems or easily said he is big spoiled child that, because of that, can be easily be completly out of the game.

I would modify this and say suarez has been quite average for a lot of time too its just that he used to show his presence on the scoresheet that masked his shitness. His ball control, passes, dribbling etc have been average like neymar for a lot of time now. As a centre forward he had plenty of scoring chances but he seems to have forgetten even that now.

I'm shure he wants to be the best but i'm not shure he has the desire to maximise his potential.
Or the desire or even need to be the go-to-guy, he's almost 25 an age where most greats were already the central figure in their teams.

Wake the fuck up you overrated primadonna.

This "overrated primadonna" is definitely the most gifted artist worldwide on the field - besides Messi - in the last 15 years.
If you received as many kicks as he gets in a game, you wouldn't even try to spit out these nonsense...

Yes, people used to talk for years how Neymar is yet to reach his prime years and how he is still developing.

I won't even mention Messi, since he is an alien, but for example, our other Brasilian from 10 years ago:
Aged 24 (season 2004/05, group stage vs Milan, winning goal for a 1st place for 2:1 win at home in the 90th minute):

Aged 25, when we still weren't CL winners, defeat against Mourinho's Chelsea:

His footballing prime is questionable (it is quite possible that we have seen the best of him and that ship has sailed already), his mental strength, consistency, desire, being a leader and decisive player week in and week out for years in a row (like Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Messi), and not having a few bright moments and months here and there, once in 4 years.

No. Suarez was clearly superior to Neymar prior to October.

Yes. Because he scored at least. His overall game has been bad for a long time now. Most of his good games were those where he scored, sometimes he scored very good goals but mostly he would finish chances. Hard to find a match where wouldn't score but played really well.

He has gone invisible way more than neymar in the last year because when he doesn't score he can't do anything else. You can throw assist stats at my face or even a few games that would prove me a wrong but its just my opinion. His touch his dribbling his most things have been way worse than what they were in 2015.

Never argued who is better though. Both have been average in basic football skills if you are to look ahead of stats which would make neymar look good with his assists and dribbles count.

That's just bullshit. Suarez has played well in all aspects of the striker role, not just finishing. No way his overall game has been bad before this season started. It's hard to find a match where he wouldn't score and still played well because it's hard to find a match where he wouldn't score.

You're taking his slump in the last 2-3 months and extending it to the whole of 2016. Wonder why...

And Neymar's stats don't make him look good, actually. Nor is seeing a lot of the ball an achievement in itself. If anything, Neymar is seeing too much of the ball.

Of course you did argue who was better at length, just not in this very post.

BBZ we wont know until he has a team built around him, maybe he's good enough to take them to glory the same way Messi did, in my opinion he doesn't posess the greatness of Messi but you never know, he can shut all of our mouths and dominate the same way Messi did
