Real Madrid

They have been extremely lucky to win the CL this year. The funny thing is Barcelona who have had the best team by a mile in Europe for the majority of the time since 2010 have won 2 CL trophies the same number as Madrid have won in Perez time.

Barcelona are definitely under performing and Real Madrid didn't deserve it this year with the free route to the final and an offside goal to win the final.

Just shows how much luck is involved in winning the competition as the best team doesn't always win.

I agree completely that there is a good bit of luck involved and that RM's CL this year is not very well deserved, but to be completely honest, it's FCB's own fault that we exited when we did. Our players were simply not up to the task in the crucial moments last season.

When you say it like that, it looks like it is close between us and Madrid. But when you add the fact that we've been Spanish Champions 5 times, and they've been Spanish Champions one time in the last 7 years, there's quite a big difference in domination between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Only time Madrid was looking like possibly the best team in the world since Florentino became president again was in Mourinho's 2nd season.

That is true. Real Madrid have been very inconsistent with their results.

The thing is the CL is the pinnacle of European football now so it kind of overshadows their poor league form.

They have been very consistent getting to 7 semi finals in a row so maybe it's not all that lucky just a matter of them keep being in the position to reach a final consistently and getting a little luck their way to win both finals.

Real Madrid's last 6 QF opponents:

Tottenham, APOEL, Galatasaray, decimated Dortmund (5 starters injured), Atletico, Wolfsburg.

They have been consistent in beating weaker teams. Basically one very strong team in 6 draws. Hardly a surprise they made the semifinal.

And the league is extremely important. If you don't win the title in your country the CL doesn't mean more than just the cup itself - see Chelsea.

Winning the CL itself is not such a huge feat if it is not part of something bigger. Real Madrid won it by drawing the only top team they've met in the entire competition.

if they get easy teams next CL again then you have to admit this is 90% rigged, barcelona would have made the finals if they had gotten the same opponents..

But barcelona is to blame also, they decided to not play up their strengths when it when it mattered the most.

They are working on Pogba.
Don't know about that.

It's maybe hard to believe but I'm convinced while Zidane wants Pogba, Flo isn't that convinced. If it was Neymar however and he was theoretically up for grabs, he will splash the cash in order to get him. but for Pogba? I don't really think he's convinced the same way as Zidane might be.

If Real do buy Pogba, Kroos will want to leave. Pogba isn't someone you buy and expect him to play second fiddle to Modric and Kroos.

I've read that James saying he doesn't want to leave is the reason why they haven't moved for Pogba as of yet. They've been on a sell to buy bass for a while now and with someone like Pogba coming in, they'd need to sell someone like James to fund the deal.

If Pogba goes there, I honestly see Casemiro getting the shirt end of the stick. He isn't flashy enough to be a starter there.

Kroos Modric Isco and James. Pogba is simply unnecessary. Kroos and Modric are better. Isco and James are great backups. With James covering wings too. Kovacic is a lost cause. What they really need is a DM. Casemiro is really not that good. But he did play great in second half of last season. Still going with just him at DM is risky especially for league.

It's not bollocks, winning the CL while beating weaker teams than you usually meet in La Liga is not that impressive. Beating 10th placed Wolfsburg in the quarters is suddenly seen as a great feat. Yea, right, marketing has blinded people around the world.

To be fair, winning any trophy is a great feat to a Liverpool fan.
