I'd say it's difficult to be called-up when you're not playing well Aleix !

Oh stop your whining.
All he said was it's hard to be selected for your NT when you're not playing for your club, which is perfectly true. Who the fuck would go out and say: I play like shit, which is why I won't be picked?

Seriously...

Vidal: "Euro? I could be there, but it's not my decision. It's difficult be called-up when you don't play at your club." #fcblive

Well, what Vidal says is almost 100% true.
It's pretty difficult to receive a call up if you don't play play, although there's a expection :arda:

That's not the point mate, why is everyone posting anything wrong about Ney, Arda, Aleix, X getting attacked straight away lately ?

Neither my post or any other after his quote could be described as "bashing".

But whatevs, amazing looks Aleix, such a pity you didn't get called up for NT just because Lucho is being horribly wrong in not playing you as much as you wish.

Hopefully this sits better with y'all :)

You're being too emotional. He gave the most logical answer. "I don't play regularly, so it's not a surprise if I didn't get called up."

My guess is that Lucho has him working hard on his defensive qualities and won't let him start getting real gametime before he sees noteworthy improvements on that front in training. What he has shown in attack so far has been pretty good in my opinion. Well timed runs, good crosses, surprisingly good connection and understanding with his teammates etc.

I really think he can improve where needed, and I can't wait to see him play more. I remember being very pleasantly surprised with his initial performances after new years.

I have nothing against his answer, just made a semi-joke replying to it.

And that's being a basher nowadays.

Agreed, I really liked him at the beginning, but a couple performances especially in defense tainted it, I hope Lucho still has him in that "testing" case and haven't judged him yet.

His Defending needs work without a doubt.

I wonder if Lucho playing Roberto at RB lately again is sending a message to Vidal in order to Improve.

He won't reach the heights or the skill of Prime Alves (Well no one could). But I still think he could be our Right sided Alba.

Alba was a Winger but in Valencia he was slowly being converted into a LB, and even when he joined us he wasn't as good Defensively as he is now. I'm hoping Vidal's Defending aspect of the game will be at least near or as good as Alba.

It may be true that Lucho trusts Roberto more in defense playing against better teams in away games but at the same time I don't think that's sending a message to Vidal. But for the rest of the season I don't believe we'll see Roberto at RB often. If anything he'll have to cover LB position more after Mathieu's injury so Vidal will get his opportunities, especially in league games. Alves (if available) is clearly a fix in first XI in CL games in which he still always finds enough motivation to play on high level (he obviously has problems being motivated against smaller La Liga clubs).

Alba is a good comparision. But in my mind the biggest difference between them is that Alba started to play regularly as LB when he was around 21 (Emery used to swap him and Mathieu a lot down the left flank in Valencia and he also played sometimes as LW but he did get a lot of experience playing as LB) and Vidal didn't play RB until last season in Sevilla when he was already 25. So there shouldn't be a surprise he still has some defensive deficiencies in his game but with his work ethic I think he'll improve when he's fully adapted to the team. I believe both Vidal and Arda will improve a lot next season. Not playing for half of this season clearly influenced their adaptation to our system.
