Barca elections 2015

Win the treble. Make truly excellent signings, setting the club up for continuing dominance. Responsibly manage the cash flow, getting excellent value buying the right megastars, and real bargains like Rak, Bravo, Ter Stegen, and Arda to step right in and win titles. Finally find the right manager.

Even with the transfer ban, the club picks up top quality for the only two positions where the current mainstays are starting to get too old.

What the socios care about most is success on the field, so they retain current management. I thought Laporta looked less and less serious as the campaign went on.

The Barca Reddit is on full blown meltdown and some other Fan pages I've come across. but it's Rather tame here though.

I'm genuinely surprised by the online reaction. I can't believe many thought Bartu would lose after winning the treble, that sealed the elections for him. Laporta had to run the campaign of his life to beat him and his momentum.

Most people can acknowledge that Bartomeu easily (and I mean EASILY) had the best campaign out of the candidates.

Bartomeu created a treble winning team, he stood by Lucho when the entire world wanted him sacked which proved to be an incredibly smart decision. Not to mention that Bartomeu signed 2 incredible players in Vidal and Turan at Lucho's demand.

It was always going to take something spectacular to beat him. But the other candidates didn't even come close to spectacular, they were nothing but horrendous campaigns.

Laprota with his ridiculous Pogba focus and appointing Abidal as sporting director. Benedito with his Verratti claims and sports drink sponsor...All garbage.

I don't blame the socis for voting the way they did. Bartomeu deserves to win this election just because of how poor the other candidates were.

A lot of the Reddit Barca fans tend to be a bit melodramatic.
Yeah true. and here's a post I found off a Barca fan page on Facebook

The future as it stands -

- Barcelona will have a couple of good domestic years. - - - More players will join the club for money eventually.
- Players like Messi and Neymar and Suarez will begin to have drops in performance because of Bartomeu's incompetence leading to more court cases and media pressure.
- Barcelona B will fail to get back to Liga Adelante.
- European success will be demolished for Barca ad a result of lack of passion.
- Barcelona will lose identity as the pinnacle of Catalan and Spanish football.
- La Masia, whatever is left of it at least, will be dead.
- Barcelona B and the prior squads will be discontinued due to lack of success and lossy investments.
- Like Manchester City and PSG, Barca will become a club owned by the Middle East and a club that will only be successful on occasion.
- Like Man City, Barca will become a full-time follow team with no European success- and unlike PSG, Barca will play in the strongest league, so no guarantees on domestic hope.

That's as positive as it could get. Imagine what more realistic scenarios would turn out the turn.
Talk about being Dramatic ehh.

Some of those aren't dramatic, to be honest. You don't expect the B team to get back to the Segunda under a president who campaigns on "Selling players from La Masia is good for the club's economy". Also the comments on Middle Eastern connections aren't exactly false. What Barca needs at this point is someone who understands that these economically and culturally challenging times in football require someone who will steer the club back towards the Mes que un club philosophy, rather than the let's-run-this-like-a-corporation approach.

Bartomeu would've been flayed and crucified for firing Lucho mid-season. As much as everyone hated him, I'm pretty sure 99% knew that not keeping him held no pros whatsoever -except maybe sealing Barto's defeat. Surely people and barto himself never ever even considered it.

Yea laporta and benedito had shit campains, no denying, but barto showed how inept he really is during the debates "guys pls there's no poll telling me qatar gives us a bad image"
all in all this whole business was a farce, all three main candidates have so many weaknesses. Just like messi said, we have the best team in the world, but the board... ahem.
