What bothers me in this line-up is Bartra being on the bench.
Looks like Lucho also didn't understand the lesson : no more Mascherano at centre back position.

I don't mind Masche starting at CB. It's only the first game of the season. Love seeing Munir there. rewarding the kid for a great pre-season.

They can. Tito and Tata weren't very good coaches, and Enrique has yet to prove himself.

Tito was a good coach. Tata wasn't all bad, but his methodology and tactics weren't always spot on. Bartra is good, but I'm sure Lucho has his reasons not to start him today.

First game of the season... Lucho going with experience at the back is the right decision.

Of course Masch was going to start with both Pique and Verm out.

I'm more surprised at Montoya not starting over Alves.

Masch is there for his experience and leadership and may still be a better CB than Bartra anyway.

A partership of Mathieu and Bartra wouldnt have that at moment with Mathieu still bedding in.

Why do we need experience and leadership against Elche? This is a team that our B team competed against no less than two seasons ago.

And in response to that bolded part, all I can ask is what the hell you're smoking.

Well, Tata failed with us, and imo Tito wasn't that successful either (though some would disagree because of the La Liga trophy). He certainly made mistakes. And we don't really know yet how good Enrique is. So there is a chance of all 3 of them being wrong.

Seriously, if Bartra will never start because he doesn't have the "experience" that Mascherano has he never will, and should leave. I don't see why it's so hard to trust Bartra against a team as low on the totem pole as Elche when Munir and Rafinha, who are both making their debuts, are trusted enough to play up front.

Fuck it, I'm so excited that I don't even care who starts. I'm sure that they will play a good game no matter wether Mascherano or Bartra tackle the sh*t out of the opposing attack. Visca Barca!
