If everything goes according to plan, Spain will get Italy in the R16 and after that Argentina in the quarters. They are kinda screwed. From Messi's point of view he'll face Portugal in the R16 and then possibly Spain or Italy. Also kinda screwed.

Look at the bracket again, Winner group F vs runner up E, so no CR possible till quarters

Germany is on its way to win its 4th WC title.

About time... though I actually don't care much. If my nation fails horribly, maybe that would finally be sufficient to get rid of Löw and me interested in my national team again. So I'm kinda torn ;)

I doubt it. The heat(though it'll be winter here) won't let an european nt win it :pep:

Aye, you have a point, but don't bet any money on it. You might be in for a huge disappointment ;)

Not really. The confeds was a good example. I saw italy - uruguay here, the italian players were dead, and brazil- spain also showed a really tired spain. That's why they are already discussing to stop the game for 2 minutes when the clocks hits 30 min, in each half. So the players can get hidrated.

Germany is on its way to win its 4th WC title.

That would require Germany to come through in the big games, which has been a problem despite all their talent.

This Brazil team plays with joy. That attitude, all the young talent, and the nation behind them will lead to another Brazil crown.

Argentina or Brazil for me too. Not the two strongest teams imo (I'd rate Germany and Spain at least slightly over Brazil, not sure about Argentina), but among the best and home or nearly home advantage will help them.

Rly? If you look more closely, they lost against two nations in particular and none other in fact: Spain and Italy.

Well, we'll see. But the additional break is certainly a good idea to make sure the players stay healthy.
