Is 'sacked' an appropriate euphemism for 'leaving by mutual consent'?

The mutual consent story is a way to save what's left of their dignity in front of the public. Unfortunately for them, the people are smart enough to know he was sacked because he was unsuccessful.

If it was a sack he'd get 20mln to his pocket. Therefore it isn't, therefore your argument is invalid.

I'm not saying it wasn't mutual consent officially, obviously it is because of the contract termination and the money. I'm just saying they did it that way to save what's left of their reputation. By the way, how exactly would any of them benefit from a classic sacking? This way, Mourinho is not as humiliated as he could have been, and the club gets to keep the 20 mil. It's a well-designed strategy to keep everyone happy. You're saying that as if Mourinho's exit doesn't have anything to do with how bad he was. He's leaving, that is, the contract was terminated, that is, he's sacked, because he wasn't successful. They did it with mutual consent to favor both parties as much as possible. Are you actually implying that this is not the reason he's leaving?

That escalated quickly.

Contracts are bound by law you know. You can't just assume because they said otherwise in the media they could keep their 20mln they were bound by contract to pay out in the event of termination. So no, it's not a sack, it's mutual agreement, on paper. But why do I care, you can call it whatever you want.

He was successful, but not as successful as everyone thought he would be. He messed with the club's mentality and paid the price. There still are positive sides to his campaign. I'm still grateful he helped us to overcome the European barriers and got us to beat you lot on a regular basis. He fucked up and lost his chances for the Decima. Too bad.

He lasted one year longer than I estimated in 2010. Good riddance. The amazing thing is that Paulo Ferreira missed Mou's return by inches. How in the world did he last 9 years at Chelsea

Not going to miss him at all... Hopefully the "war" ambient between Barca and Madrid of the last years is gone forever, I love the rivalry but at a certain point it became too much...

Did you even bother to read my post?

I am aware this is a real, official termination with mutual consent. However, it would not have happened if he had been more successful. Therefore, the entire thing (the contract termination, that is, him leaving) happened because of his "lack" of success. None of this would have happened had he been more successful. Therefore, he was sacked. Not in the way you'd imagine when hearing that word, but yeah, he is still the one leaving, on account of his lousy performance.
