Well there have been some disputes of whether we belong to your part of Europe or the central one. And somehow people here prefer the latter version.

Well natural Slovenians want to estrange from it's history especially the epoch of the last 100 years. Some professors even claim that we are not Slavs. But you should know how hostile people here are to anyone living south of the border.

I hate this cause my father wasn't born here and it's quite frustrating to be among this people while they look down their nose at us. But I was born here which loosens the whole situation a little bit up; it's a little bit different picture than for immigrants.

I`m just kidding with you. I for one like the Balkan term. Never was a fan of sticking my head where they don`t want it. Like with this EU situation. Our politicians are willing to strip their pants off, only to be tapped on the shoulder. I don`t think we have anything to prove to anyone, and the least to ones that had colonial history. They are the ones to teach us how to be Europeans?
Every place on Earth has it`s good and bad sides. We should be proud of the good ones

Well yeah I presumed your were pulling my leg.

Am, I agree with you it was the same with us, EU has it's pros and cons. People here struggle maybe even more than in some countries in the Eastern parts of the Europe where Communism left much bigger stamp than here. Inflation is still increasing and people are losing their jobs. So all in all we normal people haven't really benefited from entering to the "European zone". OK, I won't say there are no advantages... transition into Western Europe is one of them. However, those crucial issues that determine the welfare of the citizens haven't improved but were degraded.

It'd be impossible if I specified it by countries. I'd have to put at least 200 options or more. As I said it's for a very superficial overview from where our members come from.
And Croatia is at least according to some books enlisted as the country which lies in the Southeastern part of the Europe.
