We have sunk like the titanic

Barcelona business plan:
- Find an expensive player, closing the end of his prime.
- Carefully scout his attributes to be the exact opposite of what the club needs.
- Take a loan and make a ridiculous offer to sign him. Don't forget to add easily achievable optional bonuses for his former club.
- Offer astronomical wages for an unjustifiably long period.
- Loan him out to the club you bought him, for for peanuts, after a couple of years.

Barca model in few words. Haha.

Barto had plans to fix situation like selling Barca corporate with buy back clause.

Wtf has Laporta done to solve problem.

Oh yeah stay calm man still hasn't accepted reality we will sign Haaland, De Ligt and Mbappe next season

Politics. He had to promise something to win the presidency. Everyone would be in same mess.

He will sign someone for sure. Let's wait and see.

I see a lot of Titanic names thrown around: Pimienta, Setien, Gabriel Milito.

If the board hires one of them, we deserve to sink as low as possible

I really felt the Titanic comparison yesterday after that penalty was called.
Like we are already full of water and the board and players are playing its last tune. Now only to break and fully sink.

Yeah, 2-0 you could hear the crack and the boat goes in half and 3-0 boar starts sliding into water. Now after the game Koeman in a lifeboat asking himself some help. Yet he left all the players swimming in icey water.

Good game.

Most coaches don't give a shit about the future of a club unless they are bound to it for the next 5+ years !!

You can only blame a coach about the PRESENT results he did sign with you to be mother Teresa.

But couldn't care less about EV i always was 100% sure this team was at most average without Messi even with big names like Neymar and Iniesta still in the squad.

Except Suarez 15/16 the rest was get as many balls to Messi as possible.

Interesting read by twitter account Barcanalytics on the reasons behind Barca's downfall:

"It's quite parochial to think that getting Haaland or replacing Koeman would solve the issues we're currently facing on the pitch. I believe the problem lies much deeper than that
(long thread)

It substantially boils down to the following:
1. Lack of Physical Preparation
2. Mental Fatigue
3. Availability of Players
4. Tactical inefficiencies

1. Lack of Physical Preparation
From 2017, Barca has seriously fallen behind in physical preparation when compared to the other elite clubs.
There were multiple instances where players, coaches and other individuals made comments on Barcelona's relaxed way of trainings.
There were reports quite recently that Laporta and the board are planning to hire a 'Director of High Performance' to supervise the player's physical preparation.
Malcom & Carles Perez (ex-players), Abidal (ex-DoF), Aguero (current player), Luciano Spalletti (Inter coach for Barca vs Inter 2018) have all made comments which put Barca's training sessions into perspective.

2. Mental Fatigue
Football is a tough sport mentally.
The ability to perform under pressure, to bounce back from defeats and injuries, to stay constantly motivated are some of the many mentally demanding tasks that affect a players performance.
Barca has been a victim of multiple UCL knock-out game thrashings in these past years.
Roma 3-0
Liverpool 4-0
Bayern 8-2
PSG 4-1
We still have the same defensive core since Roma and the very same defensive core are our current captains.
These constant heavy loses in one of the biggest stages of world football will surely cause mental fatigue in our players.
While other clubs have been taking advantage of Sports Psychology, FC Barcelona do not employ a Sports Psychologist.
It is quite contrasting that FCB promotes Sports Psychology and offers a certificate course on the same through Barca Innovation Hub.
At the same time, it has a first team head coach who doesn't believe in psychologists and mental health
