Because people reward that, that's why people start doing that, it's very simple. Its not just celebrities who do it either.
We have collectively realised that you can obtain validation and praise by public facing demonstrations of anti racism, anti this, anti that, very few of these footballers or famous people commenting actually use their platform to materially change things. You mentioned Rashford, and I don't know, maybe he did it for praise (even though I don't think it's fair to immediately assume that), but in any case, at least he actually did something, not just words.
Celebrities or influential people will change their behaviour accordingly if regular people start to see through that type of bullshit.
