Difference is Trent achieved something in Liverpool and helped them win the CL, two league titles

Dembele did jackshit in 5 years for Barça
So, he must be hated for wanting to better his life and that of his family with wages he felt were his own estimation of his value?

Common man!!!

To be honest I'd buy this if he was playing for Ipswich Town, not EPL champions and one of Europe's best sides Liverpool

Wages they were offering at Liverpool are frankly enough (and likely much more than that) to have a very good life for him and his family

It's before anything else about fame and glory. Lucas Vazquez is midtable La Liga level footballer but he is a 5 time CL champion, captain of Real Madrid and has earned immense respect among the football fans for what he's achieved.

Trent knows this. In Madrid he will achieve a lot and, when all is said and done, he will be perceived as a much better/greater footballer than he actually was.

Can he be hated for having such personality to prioritize fame and glory over loyalty? I don't know, depends from person to person

If in 10 years time Pau Cubarsi says he wants to try the Premier League and works with the club to get sold to Liverpool for 150m , then I will wish him the best and go on my merry way.

If Cubarsi, in 10 years time , coming from the Academy and telling me how proud a Cule and Catalan he is every month, refuses to be sold or sign a new contract, winds his contract down so he can join Liverpool for FREE so he can then pocket a 75m sign on fee for himself , I will despise him. This is essentially what Trent has done.

Why people are refusing to see the clear differences between the two above examples I will never know.

He could have told Liverpool a year ago that he had no intention to renew, but he didn't. Kept negotiating a contract renewal with them until talks broke off earlier this year.

Liverpool probably seriously consider cashing in if they knew some time ago.

Gave those suckers hope even though he knew a long time ago he had no intention to renew his contract and stay.

Trying to make powerhouse clubs as victims is absolutely hilarious.

Kinda crazy how the PL is now not only losing their top foreign stars abroad but the English also. Kane left, Bellingham was a for sure thing apparently yet went to Madrid and now Trent. All the major talents are playing at PSG/Bayern/La Liga.. I mean we even have Antony at Betis now.

Think it really shows in the lack of quality in the PL this season.

Thank you very much!

Don't know why people can't see this. The fanbase being mad should be expected. I'm very happy that our fanbase is salty instead of being cucks for Real Madrid.

He ruined his Liverpool legacy. Thank you for the memories and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Isn't your powerhouse club acting like victims every week?

Ironic.

Maybe if i would actually support it, and if it werent comming from you. Besides context is completely different. Point being is player club relationship in which players are in handicap position. Well except Barca amigos. Those patriots are still sucking your club dry.

I do like to see English players having a crack at it abroad, it used to be a very rare sight since the early 90s bar the odd Bale or Beckham here and there.

Quite a lot of the youngsters going to Bundesliga too as they know they’ll actually get games.

Exactly

He was born and raised in Liverpool and joined the academy at age 6. His connection with the club runs even deeper.

He has clearly priortized his own and his new employer's coffers over that of his boyhood club. Had this been solely a quest for glory (i.e. pursuit of silverware or fresh challenges) it might have been easier to understand. But leaving on a free transfer, when the club that nurtured him receives nothing in return, comes across as a greedy act - one that's difficult to condone. Regardless of the millions you accumulate, there is only so much you and your family can truly enjoy in a lifetime. When you are gone, much of it may be squandered away by your progeny or usurped by the State. In the end there are greater and more meaningful virtues in life that are worth fighting for - loyalty, dignity and honor - and they alone will stand the test of time.

He wants to be in the conversation for the goats at FB

You can't do that playing for Liverpool, has to be Barca or Madrid.

He wants the glory, plus to pocket a high sign bonus.

On a personal level can't blame him.

But as a fan I would hate him.
