He wasn't a special player but Todd Martin isn't pushing Federer to the extent Roddick did at the 2009 Wimbledon final (one of the best matches ever played).
Yeah… I was a bit hyperbolic in my comparison above, but point was to highlight that Roddick never challenged Federer’s dominance even though American expectations were sky-high for Roddick to succeed Sampras. Similarly, TM never challenged Sampras.

Federer won 20 slam titles. Roddick 1. Todd Martin 0.

In a blink of an eye, all 3 goats will be gone and tennis will just be a normal sport again.
No there's already Sinner and Alcanaldo.

Then also chance for Shelton, Draper, Fonseca, or someone younger to emerge.

I don't think anyone born before 2000 is winning another slam though.

Tennis players generally come from rich families.

Federer and Djokovic are extremely well spoken, charismatic and intelligent. Nadal isn't very comfortable in English but very humble and likeable in interviews.

Footballers are generally just really really dumb and boring off the pitch.
