Nah, it is usually either young players, or new one. But most likely the former.
Whoever underachive from FDJ ( strongest candidate) Puig,Trincao or Fati. Dembele and Semedo will lose their place their since it is 4th year
Griezmann and Coutinho will have the " they are not wingers, or whatever position they play" type of excuse.

Yeah it's normally a young player who has been anointed to represent and embody Barca ideals or a media darling wonder kid who has been prophesied in the football scriptures to save us. Arthur in the end came to represent the romanticized Pep style that we have lost and so his failings were attributed to the ills of the system rather than his own shortcomings.
So de Jong would be a prime candidate if he doesn't deliver, although I have faith that he will more than I ever had with Arthur

Going by these two preseason games.
He won't cut it in a double pivot. Even during the treble season when Lucho tried doing it he was uncomfortable with it. Just hope the likes of Pjanic, Puig etc can step up in play in that role good enough so we don't have to see Busi start most of the time.

You clearly have no ideea how football is played since you didn't play at a high level , like myself for example.
My career was cut short because of big dick sindrome. The head of my dick kept hiding my kneecaps when I was running , thus being forced to end my career shortly. Would have gave Messi a run for his money but this isn't the point.
The point is that he was a starter for Pep , Tito , Tata , Luis Enrique and now that he's older he's been a starter for Valverde , Setien and now Koeman.
If he was shit he wouldn't start for all the last 3 Barca coaches. , so clearly he's the best midfielder we have @BBZ8800

There are also players who get deservedly or undeservedly hyped too much.
For example, Arthur when he came.
And imo, Puig currently.
Edit: Andrew M already wrote the same about Arthur. I didn't see it.
Puig is not hyped.
He's been consistently the best or second best midfielder whenever he played.

If this guy ends up still being a starter still after what had happened in the last couple of seasons....
You can get Rid of Rakitic and Vidal and Suarez but it doesn't hardly mean anything when He is still starting games. He's one of the biggest problems we have in the Midfield and if he still ends up being a starter then we haven't learned shit.
