Sergio Busquets

His assist for 2-0 today was great (he makes these passes all the time, this time he got an assist as Messi turned to GOAT again)
He also had a great assist that was questionably ruled offside just before.

Netball Busquets is playing at a high level. Way less mistakes than at the beginning of the season and key for the system right now. Sure, we can improve with a transfer budget as he is in his twilight years but he is not our biggest problem right now. Shows how it helps having a good engine surrounding him- much like Messi.

He was horrendous in the there matches prior to this where teams put pressure on the midfield.

Were losing to Granada before he came off, were drawing with Betis and lost to Sevilla and all three he struggled.

He's good in easier matches but he's still one of our biggest liabilities against top teams.

Ummm even after the bayern match still there some morons will defend this turtle 🤷🏻*♂️

Anyway I can?t wait to see his marvellous performance tonight 😂😂

One thing is for sure, Busquets will get found out, not in most la liga games but when the competition is tough he will buckle. I?d rather try Moriba, Puig, Pedri because at least you?re not SURE they will fuck up big. They?re mostly unproven (even Pedri) but we can either let them be the future or sit them on the bench playing someone who we know can?t handle big teams.

I am not sure he will fuck up
Just the opposite, I am pretty sure he won't.
Sometimes, as he plays with high risk, he does something similar to what Araujo did x2 this season, but that's not very often.
Of course he is slow, and of course he can't defend large spaces, but that is mostly on the rest of the team.

It is not on the rest of the team if Busquets dithers on the ball trying to win a foul as slow to get moving. Nor is it on the rest of the team if Busquets is too slow to get back when he has followed the ball far out of his position in protecting the back four.

It certainly isn't Busquets fault on the recent goal where Umtiti tried to tackle, either.

I think he is mostly not at fault, has played well, and I hope he will keep playing well.
You obviously think otherwise, and alike some other posters here I get the feeling you even hope he will play badly.
Whatever we think, he will probably keep playing, and he has many weaknesses that cannot be changed, so the team should be setup in order to hide these weaknesses.
Playing with Puig+Pedri in front and De Jong+Pique behind, I can not imagine the result would be that anyone would criticize him.
