Laporta put the team in a good financial situation like any team in Europe ,he did it while still winning
people keep remembering some bad transfers Laporta made in the last couple of years but forget all the players we got for a bargain price ,people seems also to forget that when the team needed to cut the money ,Laporta was able to convince players to take pay cuts for a couple of years while not touching the transfer budget ,A policy that helped the club tremendously
Rosell need to cut our loses and start remembering that we are competing with best teams in the world who keeps spending loads of money ,2 awful transfer per year won't work for ever

My bad. Still, Adriano is playing in Spain for so long now. I was referring to all those predictions that Rosell would go for big name Brazilians and ruin the squad harmony.

First season under Rosell Barca win La Liga and UCL double. Second season he agrees to spend ~60M on Cesc and Alexis and the club win neither. 3rd season he spends ~33M, the club win La Liga. I don't see where the "money over team success comes" in. Criticise him for selling out the shirt fine, but in terms of finances overall he's done a great job.

Well, Barcelona fans who applauded Tito dont get paid for making the decisions. Its clear as water Tito is incompetent and brought one of the biggest humilliations in our history while managing the best generation from the club. Quite the achievement. Rosell should be out if he wants Tito to stay

A lot would argue that first season we had a Laporta team ,hell Laporta even was the one bought Villa in 2010 summer
Spending 93M (there is like 20M bonuses in Cesc and Alexis deal so it is probably even less than that) for a club like Barcelona in 2 years isn't huge budget at all ,and when he spends them on players that is either not needed or a bad fit ,it makes it worse
Yup we will win La Liga this year ,but it is obvious to everyone this team isn't as good as it once was ,a decline has been clear since last year and we have done nothing

Many were also saying that Tito was the tactical genius and Pep was just a pretty face or, as we can see in MD, many didnt trust in Txiki and Laporta in 2008. Its a good thing though that were just fans and we dont have to take any decision.

you got it, Rosell "inherited" a great team. His impact on the team so far has been minimal but bad. He stuck to Tito after Pep left even when Pep warned of Tito's health issues. Question is Tito %100 for next year? I hope so for his own sake.
Why did we buy Song (whom I like) instead of getting a real defender? defense was our problem from last year. Rosell wants Neymar and there are some that say, bring the kid and pay the big bucks. Revenue from selling the Brazilian's shirt will offset his cost plus if he turns out to be a flop (which I predict he will) we'll just put him on the market. This means more sad news next year! instead of spending on things we need we're getting what we don't need.

Then there is this thing about Rosell and Qatar and let's not even go there! I can't wait to see this guy get kicked off for good, until then more sad news.

It wasn't a Laporta team. It was a Txiki/Rijkaard/Pep team. Laporta enabled it by taking the correct risks that paid off. In terms of spending it as 55M+bonuses for Alexis and Cesc. 4M have already been paid for Alexis. So the total spending could end up closer to 110M for the two seasons. 110M might not be 'huge', but for the club with the highest wage bill in Spain it's not that bad really.
