Not like that really, all these buys are smart and Improves an actually area they are weak in right now.

Florentino commits the same mistake from 20 years ago with the original Galacticos - stacking a team full of egos with no clear leadership. Best player here, best player there. Not that I blame him, doesn't have any other option. Madrid academy is nowhere near La Masia quality, Real are forced to import that quality for all of eternity.

As for Xabi Alonso, he's a great coach, but so far he dealt with low-key players. It's much different handling the likes of Mbappe, Bellingham, Vini Jr., etc. Ancelotti succeeded, because he was players' manager. Their comrade. Now comes Real Madrid's own Pep Guardiola, introduces triangle football, no more Valverde long range inshallahs.

That's a response to my post how? Lol.

It's nothing like the transfer window you suggested, all very smart transfers.

But we have the great Joan Waporta do need to worry
The Madrid squad in 08/09 before they bought likes of Benzema, Alonso etc in the following window was pretty weak too. Cannavaro was 35, Salgado was 32. Midfield especially with the Diarra's, Gago who didn't live up to his hype was lacking technical players. Aging Guti, overbooked in the CAM with Sneijder and Van der Vaart. Van Nistelrooy was 32.

So they were in no way not unnecessary transfers. Just the prospect of history repeating itself with Barca having a strong homegrown crop of players whilst Madrid buys a rebuild again only to potentially get pipped by a team of said homegrown talents.

Much better post, but still

Signing 3 Young defenders is nothing like what you tried to suggest with the kaka, Ronaldo etc window.

All three signings very clearly addresses a point of weakness in there current team, no squad pegs in round holes.

As it relates to us being more home grown and they being more transfer market focused, that's know.

But this team they are building well be way more balanced than anything they've had in a while, all good smart transfers so far.

Next season well be interesting, but I trust our team to do the right things this summer, we had a all time great transfer market 2 summers ago, we'll do it again if we free up some cash, while promoting from within like we always do.

Personally think they are more signings for the future than instant impact. Trent is an instant upgrade on Vazquez though if he can settle.

Carreras has had one full season at Benfica, year prior he played at Granada for a handful of games and was at Preston in the Championship two years ago. Could be a smart signing in the future, don't see him coming in and instantly elevating that defence. Looks promising though.

Huijsen, I like again and looks promising but very young and his rise has been meteoritic, one full season under his belt at Bournemouth. 18 months ago he was at the Juve next gen squad.

The Madrid of 09/10 finished with 96 points, compared to the 78 they mustered this season prior after that Ronaldo, Benzema, Alonso, Albiol summer. Still got knocked out in the r16 of the CL but in 08/09 were utterly dismantled by Liverpool.

Fab also reported they are looking for a midfielder

I'm not going to lie, they are likely going to have a very good transfer window - unsurprisingly as Alonso is given the freedom to fine tune his system with players he wants and essentially unlimited resources

Considering that we can't afford to play it dumb. More squad depth on the wings/fullback and potentially a CB/GK is all we need.

All 3 are really instant starts if we think about Alonso as the coach, only one that maybe iffy is Carreras, and even then I'm sure he will start.

Dean in a instant starter in the back 3, maybe he takes a few months to settle, but he'll start.

Trent is Trent.

Carreras in a massive upgrade on what they currently have at LB and will be able to play LWB better than anyone they have.

All they need now is a Tonali/Zubi type player and that's all the actually weak areas in the team addressed in a very smart way one as to admit.

Does that mean they win la Liga or the CL? No

But it will get more competitive unless Alonso is a fraud.

This could very well happen, fit carvajal has to start and he's no wingback especially at his age
Ball knowledge 💯

Seriously though, it might be the best solution for them. I'm looking forward to Alonso's usage of the forwards. That'll be a tough thing to sort out.
