They must have spent about £400m this summer on transfer fees, lol.
Close to 500m €, insane. They sold for around 200m, so that makes it -300m €. Klopp must be really mad watching Liverpool opening their wallet for Slot, while he had to rebuild their team with pennies.
English ffp forces them to balance their books once every 3 years right? So they can in theory spend one time big and keep a low profil the other 2 years. Still, there is no more fair competition with the Premier League gathering all the dirty and clean money to buy everyone and their dog. And it's gonna be only worse from now on I imagine.

Good time to spend after not spending much last few seasons and the league looks winnable in the near term given City's decline so it's a great chance to win some more titles. A lot was made back in sales as well.

The Wirtz signing concerns me though. With Isak and Ekitike coming in, it might have been better to just get a workhorse Reijnders type player for 50-60m to add some quality midfield depth rather than splash out on a #10 who might disrupt the balance of the team.

Would be epic if Liverpool go trophyless after the spending they had. They had a summer on the level of state funded clubs. Never again should they complain about City.

Their net spend is currently at 120m Euros for the past two summers.. and one of their players died.

Not quite the same way as state backed teams have spent over the years.

Liverpool have actually lower net spent than Arsenal this summer, because they sold a lot.
Plus, they spent close to 0 last summer, so there is nothing scandalous there.

Actually, Arsenal have a quite HIGH net spent the last 5 years or so, where Liverpool is relatively low:

The average age of players brought in is 22.5 by Liverpool also.

While we have Barca giving out big contracts to players in their mid 30s that never get anything back for and cant renew them to free up FFP.
