Bro you often make good posts but this take is absolutely horrible. Was Suarez goal scoring season in 13/14 one of the PL seasons ever for Pool (peak) ? Yes. But CR was more than just stats, guy could play both wings on a world class level, could dribble easily 2,3,4 players and create chances with his back heel lol. Not to forget his deadly freekicks and game IQ. That 1 'worldclass' season wasnt just worldclass, it was alien class and the highest peak ive seen from a PL player so far. I agree though that the 08/09 season was weaker but he had also an injury at the beginning of the season if I remember correctly.

Don't know what you're yapping about backheel passes. This was about the time spent in the Premier League playing at a high level, which is 3 seasons for both CR and Suarez. So if Suarez' time doesn't count neither does CR's, irrespective of how many backheel passes he attempted.

His trick success rate was abysmal even at that time. There were many memes about his obsession with stepowers that rarely gave him any advantage and often just utterly failed. Mostly dropped that shit, when moved to Madrid as realized Ronaldinho he is not.

Embarrassing stuff. His strength was always scoring, not this malarkey. He just wanted to appear on par with best technicians in the world out of vanity instead of playing to his strengths.

Neither was Cristiano. Had 1 world class and 2 good seasons. Same as Suarez, except Suarez peak output was even higher while playing for a worse team under a worse manager.
Cristiano won 3 Premier League Titles, a CL and a Ballon d'or at United.

Suarez consistently disappeared or underwhelmed against the big 6 teams and only had 1 good performance against United and Chelsea in his time playing for us. Unlike you, I watched every game he played for us.

Also Suarez faces way more competition at the striker spot. There's no way he beats the likes of Aguero, Rooney, Shearer and Kane in the PL.

For the RW spot, CR7's only competition is Salah.

And Ronaldo peaked higher than Suarez regardless of league stats. He turned up in the CL and was a far more complete player who played everywhere across the front 3.

He's clueless. He didn't even mention Suarez's performances against the big 6 clubs throughout his time playing for us. In that peak season, he didn't score a single goal against the top 4 teams.

Grandpa Gerrard and Peak Sturridge did better against the big teams.

Ronaldo's only competition for the RW spot is Salah.

The only true non-negotiables are Cole and Henry.

Cole is one of the greatest LBs ever. Henry is the best PL player ever.

Any team without these 2 won't be taken seriously.

Every other position you can have a debate.
Hello, long time lurker here! im sick with the flue so been online for a few days, I guess thats what pushed me to finally register, got nothing better to do.

I would argue that both Dennis Irwin and Patric Evra would deserve to be in the conversation of a all time PL team. They both won more leauge titles than Cole so I don't think it is that easy to say it is no debate. Personally I would put Irwin in my team, but I fell in love with football and United under Cantona days in the early 90's so im probably biased.

I also think Beckham deserves to be in the conversation on the right wing, but this position is very different today from when he played so I agree Salah is the best here.

Kompany deserves a shout at CB together with Tony Adams and Jaap Stam and I feel David Silva got forgotten in the middle very quickly, I would not put him in my team, but he is not far behind the best that ever played in the leauge and in the right set up he could absolutely play.

Anyway, my team as of today (this change depending on mood)

P.Schmeichel

G. Neville, Van Djik, Vidic, Irwin
Scholes, Vieira, Keane
Salah, Henry, Ronaldo

I put in both Keane and Vieira for balance because non of the attackers would help defend, same why I put in Vidic instead of Ferdinand and Schmeichel over van der Sar or Cech.

If I would go all out fantasy attack I think FatiBallondor team is good. Maybe I would change Van der Sar in for Allison and Stam in for either of the CB. Also if we only talk about peak level then both Hazard and Bale are in with a shout on the left side and move Ronaldo to the right were he mostly played in the PL.
