City is the best in the world when they don't have the ball.

P.S De Bruyne is the best midfielder in the world.

Btw , You got quite a few average players in that City team : Zinchenko , Walker , Otamendi , Gundogan. But it doesnt seem to faze Pep from playing some amazing and entertaining football. But you have still got some clowns here who are making excuses for Valverde about how Barca's team is average ( which it isn't) and how he cant play attacking football with it.

Sterling was British Dembele before Pep was signed by City. All pace and nothing else, head down, kick it and run after it. [...]

I don't think that's really true though. The only major issue with his game was his finishing. When Liverpool changed to a diamond formation, Sterling forced Coutinho out of the #10 position even though it wasn't his preferred role. He always had solid decision-making, the problem was that no one was convinced he'd ever be a reliable goal scorer because his shooting was so erratic. The main thing Guardiola has improved is his finishing and his movement. He was never a 'headless chicken' type player that some remember him as.

Dembele looked like quite the player at Dortmund too, kinda like Sterling at Liverpool. Now he's actually gotten worse

At one point Sterling was seen as the 2nd best young talent in the world after Neymar. So it's untrue to make out like he's come from no where.

Sterling was seen as a great talent when he played with Suarez and Sterling, but after Suarez left and Sturridge not staying fit he struggled a bit which is expected and you had some Liverpool fans claiming Jordan Ibe may have been the better prospect.

He got so much shit when he joined Pellegrini's City and people laughed that Liverpool managed to get 50 Million for him. He had a lot of doubts but there was something there that a coach like Pep can use and sure enough he transformed Sterling into the player we see today.

So yeah Coaching is very fucking important.

If you gave valverde Sterling a few years ago, he would ruin him.

Give him Sterling now, he turns him into a also ran

Aside from the other things, the main reason I wanted Valverde to be replaced earlier this year was because he can’t develop talents.

He was a decent stopgap post Lucho and after Neymar left because no decent coach was available. He knew the league and the club and played a style that suited the players at the time (they can’t play a high intensity game with movement and good passing combinations).

The squad profile has changed now and these guys need a manager with a system and who can develop players. He’s also proven to be clueless in Europe.

A lot of space for City, strange, when you have this much ball there is never a free player according to Valverde tactics

I think Man City have created more chances in 10 minutes than we did all game last night.
