Next one will be a final between Spain and England.
Spain will win 1-0 with a Pedri goal.

I was a bit surprised in February when they announced MetLife Stadium as hosting the final, rather than SoFi in California.

From talking to American mates (including one in New Jersey) the latter is a superior stadium, as well as New Jersey having awful transport links and transport in general.

Looking forward to the tournament anyway. It will be madness for us in Europe with time zones, but generally FIFA and TV companies optimise things for us. Not sure about this 48 team system, basically the old World Cup or current Euros but doubled. We'll see how it goes though.

Not sure where to put this, but with Oceania now having an automatic spot, New Zealand really have a bye to every World Cup.

It doesn't seem fair when better teams play in much more competitive regions. But it is a double-edged sword as there's a limit to their potential improvement playing against Fiji and Tahiti. That's why Australia joined AFC.

Not a prediction, but in the Asian section, Australia beat Japan earlier today so are all but qualified, unless Saudi Arabia win their last two games and draw level on points and somehow finish above them.

Uzbekistan and Jordan are also on the brink of qualifying for their first ever World Cups. I think these teams would really struggle at the tournament. However, this is what happens when 'lesser' confederations are given more slots.

Edit: tiebreaker rules are head-to-head. Saudi have to play Australia and they drew the reverse game. So if Saudi win their last two games (Australia have only the game against Saudi left) they will finish level on points with Australia but qualify on head-to-head. Lucky for them as their goal difference is hugely inferior. First they have to beat Bahrain away tonight. Pretty heavyweight group with all of Japan, Australia and Saudi being in it.
