Pedro Rodriguez

We should have bought him back at least 5 years ago. He would be an amazing backup and even a starter in some seasons. Too bad the snake didn't tell him he'll leave in a year in 2016 when Pedro left because it was impossible to play when we had MSN. Barca legend!

I don't think he would have had any interest in coming back when he had the opportunity to be a starter at other top clubs. And he (justifiably) felt snubbed during the MSN era.

If I recall correctly, his last action for Barca was coming on as a sub in extra time and scoring the game-winning goal in the SuperCup vs Sevilla in 2015.

Well he would most probably be a starter at Barca after Neymar left. Who did we have better than Pedro on the LW until this season with Rahpa? I'm sure EV would love him and he'd compliment Messi and Suarez perfectly with his energy, running for them in defense and making runs from LW for Messi's passes. We would see a lot less of that boring 4-4-2 if Pedro was around.

I understand he left because at the time it looked like he won't be able to be a starter for years but in reality Ney left quickly after him and a spot at LW opened up.

I wanted him as cheap backup when he was leaving Roma and I think he even said he would love to return but now it's too late but Pedro will always be a Barca legend, a lot bigger than Ney.

As I've said before probably the most underrated player in world football in last 15-20 years.
In some of the teams he's been on, he would have performed even better had his teammates used him properly. But he has often been surrounded by selfish or visionless players.

Some rose-tinted nostalgia.

First time in 11 years he managed 10+ league goals.

Even in his best season as a starter he stopped scoring after half a season: Only 3 league goals after matchday 19 in season 10/11.

19 total MOTM performances in his entire career at age 37 according to OPTA. As a comparison: Same as Yamal at 17.

Absolutely, the ideal workhorse tap-in super sub type of player but never Barca starter material.

Dicking around with NPC 2nd tier forwards like Pedro, Sanchez, Fabregas false 9/10, giving Eto'o + money for Ibra (lol) has fucked us over year after year and allowed Madrid a 3-peat. Messi performing at the level of 2 world class forwards just glossed over that fact.

By the time we finally corrected this with Neymar and Suarez the rest of the team had already declined. Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets were shadows from 2015 onwards. In 2017 our midfield in the CL was Sergi Roberto, Rakitic, Mascherano. What's the point of having MSN at that point? Talk about driving a Ferrari on a Bulgarian cornfield.
