Paul Pogba

If we'll buy Pogba, we will be able to make our eternal dream come true.
To field 10 midfielders at the same time and have possession 80-90%:

---- Denis (Alena) -- Messi (Rafinha) ----
Coutinho -- Pogba -- Vidal -- Rakitic
Gomes -- Arthur -- Busquets -- Roberto
----------- Mats (or Samper) --------

We would still have Samper, Alena, Rafinha, Puig, Oriol on the bench.
** Samper could be a GK, so that we could get even better passes from the back instead of Mats.
Xavi would be proud :xavi:

But "the idiot" Ev won't have the courage to do it...
He'll play it "safe" with some goalkeepers, defenders and attackers on a field... :valverde2:

The reality is: Denis won't help us win trophies, Rafinha will probably play 4-5 games before he is injured the rest of the season, Gomes will fuck off to West Ham, Samper is out for a loan too, Alena will have some minor minutes, Coutinho is an LW, Roberto will be played as RB with Semedo, Busquets is a DM. So realistically Arthur, Vidal and Raki.

If we bring Pogba, we wouldn't need another striker. Just sell Suarez and move Messi in the middle.

------------------------Busquets-------

Arthur/Vidal--------------------------Pogba

-Malcom---------Messi-----------Coutinho/Demebele

Messi is not a CF. When will you learn?

Messi is not a winger and can't play as a CAM due to his workrate either. He plays in the middle exclusively these days. He is more like a second striker behind a real CF, which Suarez is. Yet Suarez has become garbage. We should either buy a new CF next summer or play Messi as a false 9 until the end of his career. Could also try Malcom as a forward but I doubt he would be effective there.

Really, if he comes then there's no other choice than to play some kind of 4-6-0 system akin to 2010-12 Spain otherwise it would be huge waste of many talented players and still fielding train wrecks Suarez/Paco, who can't link up with others for shit and score only after Messi's insane assists. At leas there would be great possession and Messi would probably thrive as a goal threat in it as a free roaming maverick.

i know this formation benches some Barcaforum favorites but once we play it, we'll be too much for the opposition be it Madrid, Celta Vigo or AS Roma

False 9 doesn’t work anymore so we need a real CF and I am sure next summer we’ll buy someone for that spot.

Actually, he benched many world-class CFs cuz he can score more goals when played in that position. And I think as he ages, he should move closer to the box not further away.

No he shouldn’t. Take away ball from him and you will lose half of his ingeniousness. He should play behind striker and never as a pure CF or a false 9. When he is playing behind striker he is much more involved and his greatness is not just in providing goals but much more than that.
