I'm happy for Dembouz, he had this rewarding arc. From the first highlights vids I saw of him at Rennes he was amazing and explosive. Shame his prime didn't happen at Barca, but that's complicated matter with his constant injuries and the infamous poor fitness level at Barca during the 2010's.

Honestly, the season he had was too good for him not to win.

He had a goal or assist in their key games and finals, and won their domestic treble with the UCL and Supercup.

He also got to the CWC finals, so he won 5 out of 6, and was key for them. It's harder to find a reason for him not to win, so I knew the votes would fall in for him and he deserved it. May not come close again, but he totally deserved this one

I'd argue that football got it correct with this one.

The award went to the best player on a treble winning team.

Yamal did nothing wrong but unfortuantely for him, he has teammates who performed terribly in those Inter matches that cost him in the end.

It's a subjective award that means fuck all to proper football fans who actually go to games. Birdy even in his wildest dreams would never have seriously thought Dembele would win this award. Push come to shove you think he'd have staked his life on it? He just took an irrational shine to Dembele, like he has other marginal figures in football (Ten Hag, Poch, Zirkzee, Rashford), and Dembele is one of the few who has proved him right. Dembele did deserve it, but only absolute modern fan idiots like you who follow players far more than you follow clubs care who wins it or see it as 'football knowledge' to predict someone winning it.

It isn't even a real trophy - it's voted for, not won. Individual awards in team sports are pointless - i said that for many years - and only modern fans like you place such an emphasis on them as to feel compelled to make a post like that.

Nobody has even said he isn't a top player either.

Also, Birdy is a great guy, but your constant arse-licking of him like he's Pep Guardiola in football knowledge is so so cringe. Just proves you really don't understand the game at all if you think a random guy on a football forum is a guru of the game.

I just find it hilarious that he's gloating over a popularity contest like the BD (he even said himself it is one) and the people he's aiming it at even acknowledge Dembele is a deserving winner.

At least make a smug post like that after winning something substantial and amazing in football, like the World Cup. Oh yeah, when Messi actually done that and made him look a cunt, he disappeared for a long time.

It's true though. Everything I said was right. I even said Dembele was a worthy winner, and I don't have a problem with Birdy and am certainly not 'anti-Birdy'.

I am just saying how pathetic it is to care about the ballon d'or. It's a meaningless award that only plastics like you who never go to anfield and have to cross half the world to get to Liverpool care about.

You think genuine Liverpool fans are getting excited at Dembele winning the BD because a Barca player didn't? They care much more about their own club.

Btw, heard loads of women say Gosling is ugly recently.
