The criteria to win the Ballon is just frankly absurd these days. The weighting given to team trophies is far far too much. There are team trophies for that. There is no need to award a player twice for winning the Champions League.
I blame

. The Ballon used to be for the player who performed the best over the season regardless of trophies. Then Leo came along and they realised that by that metric he would win it every year, and people would become bored of the award, so they changed the criteria to increase the chances of players, who should be nowhere near the award, have to win it.
When he wins over a player ( Lamine ) who is far far better, and performed far better individually, at a higher level than him, it will be the pinnacle of why the Ballon Dor is losing its value.
