Ousmane Dembélé

I don't think it'll be as close as we think for this year, cause whenever pundits are asked the Ballon D'Or question now, more go for Dembele cause of the trophies PSG has won. Yamal would need to have a crazy start to the new season to tip the odds

Didn't Vinicius win bigger titles than Dembele and he didn't win? It's not a sure thing.

Ballon dor for half season is bad idea

Up until start of 2025 he was ass

Also am confident PSG would win all they won without him too

But he is french, so he will win. Like when Papin won over Savicevic lol

Possibility is Mbappe gets top 3 too. Would be hilarious. All he did whole season was statpad

Lets be real you shouldn't win the Balon D'or based off just stats.

Everyone knows Yamal is better than Dembele. But but trophies. This isn't a UCL award so take that out. Who is the straight up best player? Plus if it is stats based why isn't Raphinha there?

They don't get past Liverpool without Dembele; they don't even win their SuperCup without him, so he's very vital to them (he won the mvp of the UEFA supercup). You'll also observe that he's their key forward, as Vitinha is vital in midfield.
He has scored goals and provided assists in their key games in the UCL, Club World Cup, and other key competitions.

Raphinha is probably not up there cause most people from Barca push Yamal's name (so votes may be split in a way), for PSG, it's mostly Dembele.

The truth is, Yamal is more gifted than Dembele, but Dembele had a better season than Yamal in g/a and titles (won best UEFA player and Ligue 1 player, I don't think Yamal won the best player in La Liga, so less odds)

Dembele winning is not certain with Vinicius' case in point, however, Dembele is more likable than Vinicius to opposing fans, and you'll notice that even Madrid fans have been trying to push Dembele's name just to stop a Barca player from winning. Yamal would definitely win in the future, I just don't see it this year

I discount everything he did in the league, because come on it's PSG in France.

For me it comes down to a CL win vs a league and cup for yamal/raphinha.

Combined with being better from the start to the end of the season.

But if he wins fair enough

You know, Dembele had 9 goals and 5 assists before January, and won MVP in 5 games within that period.

Yamal had 6 goals, with 11 assists and 4 MVPs within the same period.

This shows Dembele wasn't bad in the beginning of the season, his 2025 was just next level

You've got points with Ligue_1, but the same guy had 3 goals in Ligue in the previous season, so I guess that counts to an extent

We've seen PSG without Dembele. They were equally as good. For this supercup while he had a solid performance it's not like he did the impossible or turned the game around. PSG got better with a lot of subs and tactical changes, as well as Spurs using the opportunity to show their bottling gene. He made one solid assist, you could equally say they wouldn't win it without Lee for example who scored the crucial goal

I don't think they've been equally as good without him.

Against Arsenal, he scored the first goal (real quality), and when he got subbed off, their attack intensity reduced. He connects their attack most times when he's on and also contributed to around 30.9% of their total goals (168). That's a massive influence from any player on a team.
