And your argument for why Stegen was so great in La Liga is what exactly? That he played in a great side in mid to late 2010s, having as teammates some of the best forwards in the world?

That he has been very good.. Player of Year winning Xavi his only title etc.

Courtois has one Zamora for Real.. who cares.

It was discussed recently about how these awards dont award the best GK.

That's one league season mate.. He had 8. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time.

A season before, in 2021-22, Stegen shot stopping stats had him midtable or worse in the league.

Again.. Courtois won 1 for Real Madrid.

The Valdes you dont rate won more than Courtois in Spain etc.

It is not award to judge the best GK by it is a team award.. unless the GK is best player in team maybe.

And 2 for Atletico. Btw, you think a big club is gonna sign Stegen? Another argument that shows he's a bum.

After Barca he's done. No top team is gonna sign him. Back to Bundesliga to some midtable side or some retirement league.

Yes and 1 for Real where he has been best in world.

Valdes has more.

Says it all.

Such a bum Germany start him and has been starter under every coach at Barca and big clubs have tried to sign him.... 'but no big club wants him'.

Right now I'm not much into judging his career at Barca. The team is in its best form since the season MATS arrived at Barca. And more crucial is he's not part of this growth under Flick. Wojcech for three months seems more clutch than MATS ever was, but this could also be misleading, call it beginner's luck.

One mistake the club made was to make MATS untouchable at GK at such young age after Bravo. Looking back to it, seems unfair to Cilessen to spend his prime being bench frozen for MATS, playing exclusively Copa games and amount to total of just 5 La Liga matches for 3 years at the club.

Yeah, with Xavi, Iniesta, Messi keeping the ball and making the opponents terrified to come out of their own half.

This is too easy.

So not all about the GK now....

Courtois has won 1 at the team you constantly say has best defence in world.

That great logic of if win CL must have best defence you claim.

Too easy..

Valdes has more than Courtois. Simple fact.

Go tell us all again how Messi cost Barca the CL so many times... or how Pena should be in goals now for Barca.

Too easy.

What is there to judge about Stegen's career at Barca? He's a soft mentality keeper, with severe flaws, that gets nervous under pressure because he lacks confidence in his ability (tends to happen to players that get to play at a level far beyond their skill). He can be ok if everything around him is at a very high level. The moment things don't work great, he's the first to hit the deck.

ter Stegen is a good player that cracks completely under pressure. He had some shocking games at U-21 level for Germany. Not been very good in the few NT games he's played for them at senior level.

His CL record and lack of saves in big games speaks for itself.

He's a bit like the Higuain of goalkeepers. Higuain was a very good striker. Scored a lot of goals for Real Madrid, Juventus and Napoli in the leagues, as well as for Argentina in WC qualifiers and group games, but whenever you needed him to put up a great performance and score whether it was in the CL vs. Lyon in an elimination game, a penalty to send his team to the CL, a golden chance in the World Cup final or a point blank chance vs Chile.....we all saw what happened.

He is in a different space mentality right now.

Koeman played him as striker against PSG and he played well, but couldn't finish a ramen with a fork.

I reckon he doesn't reach this level at Barca. Too huge of a mental debt to overcome.

New environment, fresh start. Etc. like the bloke who changes for the new girlfriend but not the old one but then she is all like "but why didn't he change for me?". Well I'm sorry Trina, but maybe it's because you were a lying, conniving bitch! And that when you said you were having a girls you were actually with Carl in Acapulco. And so what if I want to where speedos instead of shorts!? Maybe they don't look as cool but they allow me to swim faster, it's in the fuckin name!?!?

...sorry lads, went off on a tangent there. Where was I?
Do you need an obligatory "who hurt you bro" or are you fine? 🤣

Haha ffs.. 'U21 for Germany'.

If you take Barca final Ko CL games alone in last 10 years.. Messi is nowhere near the GOAT, Suarez is nowhere near a top CF, Busquets is a joke of a DM etc, Pique is one of worst CBs in a top team etc. Many more.

Messi, Pique, Busquets and Pique had multiple outstanding matches at CL level across many seasons and years in their careers. They also performed under pressure for their NTs and won everything that could be won for them.

ter Stegen's only big CL game is in 2015 vs. Bayern. One noteable performance.

MAtS is not even a footnote compared to them.

Try again.
