Omar Marmoush

Been thinking of him for the past week.

With his stint with City deemed almost a flop. And will have spent a good 1.5 years with them. He could be had at a fairly reasonable price.

I think he could be the ideal candidate for us. Our style doesn't necessarily need a ST.
A CF is all we need. Guy has his scoring instincts. He just isn't a target man. And also lacks height.

But with an attacking CAM behind him, like Fermin, he would be deadly. Or along with Raphinha, who usually drifts into the middle, and plays almost like a CF.
He has the passing chops, pressing ability and finishing. Almost like a mini Alveres.

It doesn't mean I don't want us to pursue a ST.
A ST like Kane or Halland is better for us. But it wont be cheap, and in case of Kane it will be short term again for like 2-3 years. And you never know, how fast he falls off.

And I still think Raphinha can play this role well, while we can field Rashy - Rapha - Yamal as our front three.

I agree. I think he would be good for us. City build everything around Haaland which means the other forwards take a secondary role. Our front line has more equality and everyone chips in. He can play lw too.
Don't know his valuation currently but I think we could get him for 40 million. Alvarez would be 80 million.

Don't see him as an upgrade to Ferran. On the contrary. And Shitty will ask at least 50m for him, should be a hard pass.

Get him on loan. Fucking shitty won't do that though. Funny, despite being Catalan the whole City set up have no soft spot for their former club. More interested in making bank at the oil club.

Feels like maybe another Frankfurt? special.

It seems every forward that plays out of their skin and has a banger of a season over there ends up getting bought for big money and ends up flopping after they leave the club.

But I think Marmoush has a lot more to offer, though, and might just not be a good fit over there. Need to see more of him elsewhere though.

Ekitike exists

He's cooking in a dysfunctional system

He is doing well with Egypt. He was decent with City before injury but he wasn't the same after the injury. Also he is a second striker and was more of a natural Alvarez replacement, however it doesn't seem City is moving this way tbh.

I think if they are patient he can have a role there. If not, he suits a club like Atletico a lot.

Ekitike was always a force but he is scoring a goal every 150 minute and is well below his xG (just like he was in Frankfurt).

For a 95M striker, people would have been disappointed, if it wasn't for the more expensive deals and the other drama in Liverpool.

He is solid, but cooking is stretching it.

Ekitike has been amazing in this dysfunctional team with no patterns of play and is a lot more than just goals.

There's a reason even rival fans and ex players are so impressed by him.

He's a complete attacker and a brilliant all round Footballer. I wouldn't swap him for Julian Alvarez.

This is what he does:

If people are fawning over Alvarez, Marmoush is exactly the replacement you want to have.

Yes, he's not as proven as Alvarez. But he has shown his quality, and could be had for far far cheaper.

It all depends, if Flick/Deco wants a CF or a Target men ST like Vlahovic

He could be an option for a similar loan to Rashford's in the summer. He'd also be cheaper and better. I think he could explode in Flick's system. He would be perfect for Raphinha's role and could also play as a striker.

Get someone like him and that allows us to use all the money (if we have any) in defence.
