Can you tell a bit about him? How would you rate him? Is he going to be the next big Ligue 1 wonderkid? From the videos he seems quite interesting, quick and with an eye for goal. Stats also add to that. But what are his strengths and weaknesses? Also is he more in good form, or was he always amazing and people just slept on him. I noticed he's 23 and until the end of last season I haven't really heard of him that much.
Also if you'd have to choose between him or Thauvin (who'd probably cost a lot more), whom would you rather sign?
He came up in the 2nd division with Angers similar to N'Golo Kanté with Caen, so that's probably why you hadn't heard of him before this season. Granted, he's always been talented, but this season his progression has taken a huge step forward as he's emerged as one of the best forwards in world football. A Lille team that spent last season fighting relegation is now 2nd in Ligue 1 with the 3rd highest goal scoring record after PSG and Marseille. A Marseille side they defeated 3-1 only last week.
As for his skill set? I feel he's one of the most complete forwards out there. He has pace, plays intelligently, possesses excellent ball skills/close control, and casually plays between and breaks lines with his passing. For me, he could be the last piece to complete PSG's trident after Kylian moves to the middle. He's that good.
I prefer him to Thauvin. They have a similar talent level but Pepe is more impressive physically, a few years younger, and is a more creative.
