Its been a decade. You cant teach old horses new tricks.
On top he is a GK, he just has to save shots. One trick pony, but the pony is too old to fix his reflexes.

Why though

Multiple reasons

1) MATS already played few games under Flick and it would be kind to say he didn't impress

2) He doesn't deserve any more chances

3) Ferran, Eric and co are outfield players. There is not much you can improve in a GK, especially when he is a 33 year old veteran.

Just get rid of him. Selling him to Saudi would be a dream.
