Messi best season with Barca

Simple question, I put the 10 seasons I personally feel are the best, although I think that 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2014/15 are obviously above the rest.

I'd say only 2016/2017 2017/2018 were kind of below par, for his standards.

13/14 was by far his worst season

12/13 is also overrated, scored a lot of goals but in terms of dribbling and 'being a one man army' way worse than his previous seasons with Pep

The best was imo 10/11 when he was unplayable most matches, 11/12 and 14/15 were maybe 5% weaker

18/19 was the best "Messi without help" season, he lead on his own to semifinal cl and la liga title

16/17 and 17/18 he was great in league, bad in cl

It's hard. Imo Messi's stand out periods were (without order) 2010/11 season, 2012 calendar year, 2014/15 and 2018/19 season.

This is the only right answer. In 10/11 and 14/15, he was in his physical prime, unplayable and a statistical monster (80 G + A in 2010/11, 85 G+A in 14/15). Did the European double in a dominant fashion both years, with treble in 14/15.

His level in 18/19, considering his age, what he had already achieved, and the team around him, was also astounding.

The reason I hate EV is because he couldn't close out a tie v Liverpool where Messi (with some help) gave him a 3-0 lead. Messi didn't play his best at Anfield, but he was still okay, compared to the rest of the team which completely shat the bed. That would have been a solo CL win if there ever was one. Unfortunately, solo CL wins don't happen, even for the GOAT.

As an individual his best was around 2010-12.

In 14/15, he was combining better with better attacking partners.


But as an individual, the former period was where he was at his best.

Also, in that second leg against us he showed no spine and leadership just like the rest of the team. The occasion, crowd and intensity that day was too much for him and the institution of FC Barcelona. We were possessed that night despite missing 2 of our best players.
