Where are the football players who want to play for their childhood dreamteam ?? Everyone wants money nowadays.

Frenkie does, but Barca had to up their offer for him too. Also, not every footballer has a childhood dreamteam.

Let's not hide the fact that PSG currently is the better address for sporting success.. I know, they didn't win the UCL so far, but they were closer than Barca was in those after-MSN Barto-years. If the economic offer is so much better too like in the case of Wijnaldum there is nothing you can do.

yeah, at this point i would like us to get him.

griezmann is a better player if you have a defensive team and your manager is simeone or deschamps. otherwise depay has more talent and is better suited to a club like barcelona.

We will see if Depay betters what Griezmann did and contributes to over 30 goals across next season but is clearly better than likes of Braithwaite.

If he has the talent to score those goals and make those assists even in system that doesnt suit him will be even better signing.

Barca didnt have to up offer to FDJ to stop him going to PSG and choose Barca.

End of the day there is a pretty good chance that we will miss out on him as well , since De Boer isn't allowing anyone to leave the team so that they can focus on the EURO's. If he has a great tournament for example another top club can easily swoop in with a much better offer.

Biggest bullshit ever. Look at De jong Wages he earns like 22 Millions. PSG offered only 1-2 M more. If PSG gave him 50% more Salary he would be in Paris

starter for netherlands 10 or 20 years ago would have meant something. starter for the current side? not so much.

can't even remember when they've last had a national team this bad.

Remember when Netherlands had in the same time attackers: Kluivert (1976), Bergkamp (1969) and subs Van Nistelrooy (1976), Hasselbaink (1972), Makaay (1975), Van Hooijdonk (1969).
All born in space of 7 years.

An era of good old no9s.

Yeah, we had to go the distance with PSG. We offered a comparable figure, which was huge anyway.

It's not like we offered half and FDJ chose Barcelona because he liked the club/city.

at the end of the day neither depay, wijnaldum, aguero or eric garcia were/are players that would change our club in the future. these are stop-gaps that were feasible from a financial point of view and in line with what the club can do right now.

FDJ on the other hand was the most promising young midfielder in europe and was seen as a player that will be instrumental for our midfield in the future. so it made sens to go into a bidding war for him.

Well, we for sure won't go in the bidding war but it would be a shame to miss on him. We can get him for free, and if we don't sign him there will be no other option on the market. As things stand right now it's either him or no one. IMHO we can't go into another season relying only on Messi goals.

In summer 2022 we can maybe try to sign Haaland or Lautaro but there is 0 chance we can sign either of them this summer. In addition to that, Lautaro probably wouldn't bring anything special to this team.

The issue is not the bidding war it is not having these signings agreed months ago.

PSG may well have thought Messi was going for example and he may now not and funds have been freed up to sign other players... assuming they are even trying to adhere to financial restrictions.

Barca wont get involved in a bidding war as cant afford to more than any idea of it it being bad investment.

He would play as a Striker. PSG already trying too offload the anti footballer icardi

hmm, they could try neymar-depay-mbappe as a sort of mane-firmino-salah type of trident. after all the three of them can switch positions and alternate sides depending on play.
