Marcus Rashford

So in other words, no real pay cut. Just as I expected. Knew those pathetic Catalan journalists were spewing BS fed by the board yesterday. First it was a 50% cut, then 30% and now we’re down to only 15%, and that’s before the easily obtainable bonuses that will take him up to his current salary, if not even higher. Who fucking knows with how disastrously bad this club is ran? Circus de FC Barcelona rolls on!
The so called paycut is the biggest myth in modern football. Who in their right mind would forgo millions out of good will when they have a solid contract?

But fans would eat this shit like it's cake.

You're welcome
Yes, I believe he can contribute as a squad player for Barca in some ways. But I am worried for Barca in the sense that he will start to think he should be starting games he doesn't deserve to because of his attitude. As I said before, there's a fine line between confidence in one's ability and severe arrogance, and Rashford has shown a tendency to cross it.
I don’t see it happening as Rashford is basically a nobody at Barca.

If he does that good chance he will be isolated by rest of team.

We'll see how it goes regarding that, but the team he goes into... that's a domestic treble winning team, not United, or Villa. He will realize that he somehow got to a higher level and probable be more humble.

He's not playing with Lingaards here. Fecking Henry was humbled pretty quickly at Barcelona. Some trainings with Yamal, and he'll know his place .

True, but if he comes in, scores a few goals. He will be reading the English media which will be filling his head with 'superstar Rashford shines at Barca' and 'Tuchel, get him back in the England squad, pronto' etc.

Without being unkind to him, he seems easily influenced and impressionable, and like he buys his own hype. So if he starts well he could start to believe he is entitled to a place in the starting lineup and should be usurping players in big games.

To be fair, Raphinha has a big ego himself, and it remains to be seen if he can replicate (to some degree) last season's form too.

Hope you're right mate. Probably will be but I am just being cautious.

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I like our offensive upgrades. I'm more worried about Lewandowski declining sharply than the ability of our new additions.
Aye I agree with you on Lewa. Even last season - he scored goals but his all-round game was worse than it was at Bayern. For age related reasons and other factors.

I definitely think a new CF would be preferable. But of course it's not a perfect society and the trick to being a football club is you can't just spend hundreds of millions every summer (unless you are a select few) and have to try to get the best out of what you can and prioritise in certain areas).

think lewy could show big declining signes this season

also Raphinha was overperforming last season, dont think he will repeat it

Rashy will get a starting spot in long term i assume

Beinsports reporting he took a 15% paycut, with us paying him 14mil gross, 7mil net 😅

That seems to be what most reports say. 14m gross with some bonuses if he plays a big portion of the games. Basically if he shows a high level and features very often, I assume he gets those 15% back as bonuses. Sounds about right.

We basically pay him full wage if he does well, with nothing paid to United.

If theres someone who can replace an aging Lewandowski temporarily its Ferran Torres who scored 20+ goals in all competitions last season versus Rashford who scored barely 5 goals in all comps?

I assume Ferran has an edge. But we can rest both Raphinha and Lewandowski and with Rashford - Torres - Yamal, we sit very well for a 2nd string attack. Maybe Roony surprises also.

We also have options to rest both Lewa and Yamal and line up Rahsford - Torres - Raphinha no issues.

I hope Flick saw that Raphinha was a bit gassed late in the season, and we want to prevent overplaying him at that level again. Because it's not only the games he plays, but also that his style is based on many runs and a lot of effort put in.
