Complete mess of a club. They used to be the real deal under SAF. It will take them a long time to get back to the top

Their downfall would have started a few years before that if not for SAF , in the last couple of years of his time at the club the squad was already quite average , but SAF was something of a wizard and managed to win titles and stay competitive with the likes of Cleverley and 40 year old Giggs in central midfield, he papered over the cracks.

United has a lot of problems, but getting the right manager would go a long way, but they haven't found one yet.

ManU's Harry McGuire artfully creating a wicket for ManCity's Kevin De Bruyne to shoot through and score.

Commentator: "...and Harry McGuire doesn't seem to just read it whatsoever."

United has been stuck in a cycle of hell for nearly a decade now.

A club with so much money and history but the owners and the top brass know how to make money but don't understand the football aspect of it. United have needed to go through a proper rebuilding phase since the last years of SAFs reign with him close to retirement and the original core of the team entering their twilight years or have been moved on already at that point.

The current team doesn't have a solid foundation like Saf's teams did. It's a mix of players from the LVG, Mou, and Ogs eras, and not many of them of worth keeping around. There appear to be some players with CR7 level egos in that locker room just without the ability to back it up and are more than willing to undermine other players and the manager themselves in order to take heat off themselves.

That club is a fucking mess. No amount of money will fix their situation until the higher-ups realize they need an actual foundation to build a proper team again.

I was going to say the exact same thing. When you look at the squad that only lost the league on the final day in 11/12 and won the league in 12/13 he performed a miracle.

Recruitment at United has been awful and they are struggling to find their identity without Ferguson all these years later.

Poor Moyes, people made too much fun about him in 13/14 as everybody thought he was holding Manu back :(

Ferguson chose Moyes to make himself look better. Everyone knew Moyes was out of his depth.

If a world class manager came in and continued winning stuff, then Fergie would look less special.

At that point, many big managers were potentially available to United

5th season in a row without a trophy, was unlikely they would win CL anyway, but now its official.

Their fall from grace is even more diabolical than Milan who mainly fell because of Serie A being broke and Berlu not wanting to inject cash at the beginning of 2010s.

United have burned away a billion euros plus since the 2011 CL final beatdown for 2 CL KO wins in 11 years.

Dumpster fire of a club. Even after our CL beatdown by Bayern, we've basically come back to being "competitive" for LL in under a year (and in 1-2 years maybe even CL).
