Yea, having confidence in the manager is a big thing. I now know that if X player is not playing enough it means he is not giving enough. With Ernie you never never knew that since his first priority was not to upset the old timers.

Not saying Setien is perfect, or even top class, but he understands and admits the issues, showing discontent when needed and working to fix them. That alone is 100 times better than pretending things are fine like EV did.

Agreed. I am still convinced the lackluster performances are mostly due to a lack of conviction and confidence. Team needs to build momentum mentally. Forget tactics and accept we have enough quality in the team, only way to win CL is with mental fortitude.

We need a rebuild, but our board got it the wrong way. We should be getting rid of older players, not not our young ones.
