Messi's probably scored around 80% of the high pressure penalties he's faced in CL/WC/Copa/big LL games.

Not absolutely elite, but that's more than a decent record as he's taken A LOT of them.

I'm not sure Neymar or Mbappe are any better. In fact, I know Neymar is definitely worse. Mbappe iffy.

i bet marquinhos is a more reliable PK taker than the front three. messi is an abysmal PK taker who is unreliable in such situations. if he were a proper 'teammate' he would accept that, take FKs, and let someone else, someone with balls, take PKs

where have you been the last 10 years as messi has missed consequential PK after consequential pk? did you watch him last year against PSG? did you watch him last week against Real?

neymar is worse but neymar is also not messi tier. so its not exactly a good comparison.

The commentator said the coach designates the PK player before the match, so imagine Messi telling Poch he doesn't feel comfortable with that responsibility. I think the best option would be for coach to designate player and then the player with option in real time to pass off if there's a gut feeling.

Ramos has an extremely high 85.7% conversion rate so he should be taking all of them when he's on the pitch. I bet if Marquinhos had taken PKs in his career he'd be about 83%.
