There is no way Messi is staying with this team next season. They have an awful manager and a pretty average team for a top team. Take out about 6 of their players and that team is pretty average.

Mbappe should have made it 3-0, but he kept missing easy chances.

People genuinely believed Messi would turn up to this lot and win a Champions League with them. What a garbage team.

This "garbage team" was doing way better than this before a certain someone was signed. Reached the CL finals and semis in consecutive seasons effortlessly. Drop the childish excuses and blame game. The PSG fans(the actual ones not the...) know who is to blame. No pens given for opponents breathing mostly the reason.

Maybe Messi isn't the problem, if you're being generous, but I'll tell you one thing, he sure as hell isn't part of the solution, and isn't for any top club anymore.

That's fine though, he is 35 and has had a wonderful career, he should cash in now and enjoy some big money in Saudi and do a mini rivalry with CR.

Which other top team will seriously be interested in Messi at this point for wages and playing time he's asking for?

Maybe a B tier team like Milan or something but don't see any CL contender with the amazing managers and teams you think he should be on trying to get him.

Wind your neck in, where am I making childish excuses?

They've been knocked out 5 times in 7 years. Their route to the final was Leipzig, Atalanta and Dortmund, where they were losing 1-0 in the 90th minute against Atlanta so the effortlessly is complete bullshit. They've had one good CL campaign in 7 years.

Messi has been ineffective in the CL for 7 outta the last 8 years too. Wasn't blaming PSG nor Messi.

Since Neymar and Mbappe joined PSG

17/18 - Round of 16
18/19 - Round of 16
19/20 - CL Final (thanks to 1 leg in the KO)
20/21 - CL Semi

I wouldn't say this would be effortlessly. Also, don't think it's fair to blame only one player specifically.

Besides Veratti, the other PSG midfielders are not CL starter level.

People blaming that 1 player is far closer to reality than exempting that 1 player from any blame. It's a big part of the problem at this point.

Well the team is definitely not garbage in any shape or form. People say "there are not many top teams or truly elite teams around anymore". Compared to others PSG definitely have a top team. No squad has all big names. You want 3 world class mids playing in a midfield 3? Which team has that luxury rn?

Also we need to stop blaming the managers. It's a poisoned chalice. No top managers want this joke of a club.

PSG's team building is reminiscent of ours when we signed guys like Arda Turan, Andre Gomes, Malcom, Aleix Vidal......

Instead of spending money on good players in midfield or defence, or honestly even retaining talent that are shining elsewhere they kept signing some proper scrubs.

They also lost the league before Messi arrived so yeah , amazing team , was running effortlessly wild in Europe without Messi

Stupid arguments like that can be turned into whatever you want.

Like how the greatest centre-back of all time and the RB better than Dani Alves are getting bumfucked defensively all season.

Messi is not the solution for PSG, but their problems run way deeper than one player. It's a team building/construction mess in Paris similar to ours years ago. Same with Liverpool probably.

It's always more than one player or a couple of players.

Except that CB/RB's fanboys aren't retarded enough to exempt him from all the blame and they don't desperately try to shift all the blame onto the manager, other players, weather, food, culture and GDP. :clown:

True. Just did a quick search on the arrivals from PSG and it's shocking.

Vitinha 41m
Fabian 23m
Soler 18m
Sanches 15m

97m on all those 4 players. Would have still kept Paredes and Kalimuendo (who offers more the Ekitike).

Horrible decision by the PSG management.
