and no other player doesn't?

Dont get me wrong, i always say players need each other, it's a team sport but just noticed after KL group mentioned it at CR that Messi needs it even more....it's crazy as i think individually he is top3 of history but somehow he goes too often in invisible mode in big games when he doesnt have a very strong team behind him 😶‍🌫️ i assume he feels way more confident when he knows he has wc players around him

He is the one player who shows up the most in big games, so not sure what you are talking about.

Of course players feel more confident when they are surrounded by WC players.

Its been 18.5 yrs after Getafe goal yet households think he isnt the best. I actually met a guy who thinks "he has qualities".

Like he's talking about Mauro Icardi.
The only people who play Messi down are fans of the plastic Portuguese ratface.

Everyone else knows he's the GOAT, or at least part of the holy trinity with Maradona and Pele. Anyone who won't even admit the latter is a closet Penaldo fanboy.

Dont know who is the greatest tbh,imo is him

As for the best player though,Messi could have retired after that game.

Can't be greatest with no World Cup. It's not like Portugal haven't had good teams.

Also, noone with 2 La Liga titles in 9 seasons at Real Madrid, no World Cup knockout goals over 5 tournaments, as well as all his failures since leaving Real Madrid in the CL and in Asia, is the greatest. Far too many gaps in his CV.

@KingLeo10

His only claim to greatness is his CL record late in his career.

Kinda agree, without the 3 peat we wouldnt be here.
After Bilbao goal and Boateng 2015 Messi was leading 90-10 in a poll.

Then Barca screwed everything and wasted it. Atleast Messi saved his legacy.

The irony is Creepnaldo was a much worse player when he won those CLs than when he didn't in the first half of his Real career.

It shows the importance of team.

But yeah, he has zero claim to greatness other than the CL (and even then other players have won 6 to his 5). He's scored most goals but he's scored soooo many meaningless pointless goals, definitely more than anyone in history. So I couldn't care less about his 900 odd goals, at least half of which mean fuck all.
