Messi has been a shadow of his self this season and frankly bad for most of it but if he keeps the level of his last few performances he is easily our best player

That just shows how good Messi really is. He's been well below his best but still scores and assists a shit ton of goals.

Where the haters? @Serghei @BBZ

Things are not black or white. If Messi is consistent in being a good asset to the team then he should be a starter, but if he is more often than not being a liability then we seriously need to consider letting him go. Excellent performance from him last game

Some players get the benefit of the doubt when on a bad spell of form. Messi, even though he is by far the most important figure in the team due to his past achievements, doesn't.
When it comes to Coutinho and Griezmann we have heard a million excuses as to why the can't hit a decent level. FdJ has been up and down for two years and still very few criticize him so harshly. And all those things are fair, because there is a multitude of factors impacting a players performance.
All these factors disappear when Messi has a bad game. And when we say bad, most of the time he still manages to be the best player on the team. All you hear is how he is the worst player, bad character and many many things unrelated to football. So, these are the haters in my view and there is no need to hide behind few good words after a game, just to come back after a bad performance and criticize the player on a standard you would never hold for anyone else.

Messi gets praise when he plays well and excuses when he doesnt as well.

The Coutinho/Griezmann argument is different in looking at why they have failed with reason for team set up and their own failings. There is not much excuses or attempt to take away blame for their own failings.

The attitude of Messi at beginning of season and in Bayern game etc has been poor and has impacted team and it will get discussed more as he is best player and one the team is always built for.

When he plays well gets the praise as well.

Messis performances per game can be commented on good and bad just like every other player.

The last few games is most have enjoyed watching Messi in years and way is playing as part of team.

haha certainly not in this forum.
Here Messi has entered into a psychotic narrative, which wants him finished.
Semi-troll users who accuse everyone else of being fanboys, only to radically change their mind when Messi plays well. Without a minimum of coherence and vision

Messi is commented on every game. Good and bad and gets more attention as he is best player and one team is built for.

On one side are those that meltdown any time anything negative is said and on other those that try to see all negatives.

Majority is somewhere in middle and comment on game by game both positive and negative as with just about every other player.
