Lionel Messi - v7

Messi needs to poach CR7’s or Lebron’s fitness team. Have a feeling he doesn’t give two shits anymore though and just wants his Steak and Pepsi

Sure, but Zlatan is also very fit for his age, very professional, and genetically gifted. Ronaldo the same. You can still be successful in Serie A at an old age, but not by slacking and walking.

If you put Zlatan in an average La Liga team would he do much? Zlatan himself walks through games. A great player but he's stayed in Italy and France most of his career (and MLS) where the game is very slow and suits him and then not done it in the CL knockouts.

Ronaldo basically plays to score goals. He goal hangs waiting for tap ins and penalties.

Yes Zlatan would score plenty in La Liga.

La Liga is not some super quick technically great league.

Well i dont think he would score much goals in a average serie a team as well. Milan creates lots of chances this season thats why he scores so much. His fitness is still unbelievable and in a team like sevilla he would score 20 goals in la liga season.

Zlatan has physical qualities that Messi lacks. Those are important because they allow you to play as a pivot and get to a wide range of passes. Also, he is more mobile than Messi. Messi is without a doubt, the worst mover off the ball in top football.

Cazorla with no achilles dominated La Liga at 35, Messi and Ronaldo barely running banged in goals last season.

Italy is not some super easy league in comparison. Both are poor and likes of Zlatan would score in both.

La Liga is poor at the moment, but it's easier to score in Italy. Messi was miles of it even most of last season but still top scored easily. Immobile was breaking all time scoring records last season and Ronaldo was just behind him.

I would put Zlatan, Ronaldo etc above a lot of the average attacking players getting goals in La Liga.

I'd agree that Ronaldo and Zlatan's aerial prowess help. It allows them to stand in the box and wait for service and a threat at set pieces etc. Messi is always looking to score the perfect goal from open play.

Zlatan would score a lot in La Liga. He's just a top striker who doesn't rely as much on pace. Not even peak Zlatan was very fast and used more his body to control bolls and exploit chances.

Messi is the opposite. Low height, poor in the air, doesn't shoot with both feet, doesn't move, doesn't keep a position well, and he has lost the spark in terms of speed and acceleration. He's finished as an elite scorer.
