Madrid asked for Alaves to be played on Saturday to prepare for Arsenal but got denied

It's becoming a practice yeah but unlikely it will work in La Liga. Imagine just the outrage if either Barca or Madrid had that advantage. In Ligue 1 not really, it's just PSG that's relevant in CL. They even kind of root for PSG in the CL.

The issue is that Porkchop and France allow it. Germany doesn't but move games to Fridays for an extra days rest.

While LaLiga and EPL do neither.

So we have an unfair competitive advantage created.

So UEFa needs to change the rules to either allow it or stop it. The latter would make more sense.

As you initially said, if the club really want the rest, then play the B side or sub players. Done.

I am not sure UEFA has the authority to do either. They have almost no power on leagues.

PSG better get that CL this year, coz Louis Vuitton, Red Bull and Bahrain backed Paris FC are coming for them bedouins.

6 teams fighting for 3 CL spots with this being the penultimate round and none of them are winning at half time... absolute scenes...

Hope Lyon somehow makes it to top four, even though it looks quite unlikely...

Marseille and Monaco are officially in CL group stage.
4th place plays qualifications, 5th in EL and fifth in Conference.
Currently Nice, Lille and Strasbourg are sitting in 4th to 6th place with only goal difference seperating them, with all at 57 points.

Lyon has 54 points and good goal difference too. He will make Europe if he wins last game and any other side of the previous 3 loses his next game.

Nice is playing Brest
Lille is playing Reims (in relegation battle)
Strasbourg is playing Le Havre (in relegation battle)
Lyon is playing Angers.


Brest is the strongest opponent, but aren't really aiming for anything (although they did play great against Lille last night). Reims and Le Havre are fighting relegation (along Nantes) but obviously the weakest. Angers just avoided relegation and is both weak and has nothing to play for.
It will be an interesting game 34 on Saturday
