Same thing. To be a top manager and you have to win titles, the bigger the better. To do that you need a top team. To land a top team job is hard and to be a hit is even harder. So...

No,
you can be a top manager even at Mainz or lower.
When you win titles at the top level, you simply certify that you are a top manager at any level

Serious clubs look at track record and evidence to hire coaches.
And that is most of the times at the level below

there is no such thing as 'zero-risk' appointment.
GET OVER IT
Admit you were terribly wrong with Xavi, and start watching and understanding football

So you come to my words.
Evidence of previous work is taken into account in any coach appointment.
What can't be given is CERTAINTY of success that idiots like you and Serghei request from a Barca coach
but somehow forget/forgot it with Xavi

Xavi has achieved success already at Barca far more than most non top managers.

You can be a good manager at a small club. Then you work at it until, innevitably, you get your big chance. Then you take it, or you don't. If you do, and you lead that team to top results, then Voila, your are effectively one of the best in the game.

Take Xavi. If he wins the title next season, he is effectively top 5.

Yes, you take it IN A PROJECT that takes time
and not judged after 1 year in the most difficult league in the world, against the best coaches

that's what is hard for you to get

All this is the ill effect of Madritista logic creeping into Barca fans

Most managers get time and some leeway after they get a top job, unless they suck badly right away.

They do. Look at ETH, produced a worse season than Moyes at United in EPL and still has a job.

ETH produced a great 1st season, and a bad 2nd. The responsibility for the 2nd season is not entirely on him, or better is for the most part not on him, but the people above.

You guys don't have any clue how a football club is run.
You think a coach is some kind of wizard, and things are done automatically

Madritista logic again

There is quite literally no top manager for Barcelona to go after, given the economic disaster that is FC Barcelona, the club is probably less attractive to take over than any top Premier League club. The hope is Laporta out in a future vote of mistrust or that he outright resign. A new election with a new board that bring in a new manager and a project with some new ideas.

I'd rather he kept Xavi than promoting Marquez.

No way Laporta gives Motta the job. He had a falling out with Motta and he's too egotistical to backbdown and give him the job.
